81 THE BATTLE OF SPIRIT AND FIRE 5

Lionhawk and Arie stood outside the first door into the room where the assimilated humans were sitting at the computer stations. Mark and Jim were waiting against the wall until Lionhawk and Arie completed their task. Lionhawk opened the door quietly; Aria’s eyes were shinning with a deep blue tint. Lionhawk could see the blue light protruding in front of Aria’s face. The sword’s blade was shining and the names were turning golden. Lionhawk could feel the light of blue flame extending from his own eyes. They both stepped into the room and the things in the human bodies all looked up at once. Lionhawk and Arie both could see the blackness around the bodies and they also saw deep orange red flames in the beings eyes. The beings were looking at the open door and could not see the two blue spirits but knew that something was in the room. They began to stand up and move around their desks. Lionhawk uncloaked himself and stood with his sword held out in battle form. Arie had moved to another spot and became visible also.

The Burnsacka assimilated humans all began to vibrate a deep sound that resembled a Hugh building or something on fire, the crackling of timber burning and large pieces falling in on each other. Their eyes burned brighter and when they opened their mouths fire belched out. They rushed the two blue spirits. Lionhawk held up his arm and stretched his hand and a deep blue flame shot forth, it hit the first being full on and the human body fell to the floor as a burning tube of fire disappeared with a wrenching loud scream. All the other ones halted for a moment but then rushed forward with even greater speed. Arie leaped in a blue beam streak and caught another knocking it to the floor. Arie bit it on the neck and it screamed as the fire tube left the human body and disappeared. Lionhawk had moved forward and swung his sword hitting one and back stroking into another. Both beings screamed that wrenching sound and left the human bodies and disappeared. Arie had leaped on another and bit it. As it twisted in agony another one jumped on Arie and tried to assimilate itself into the cat. The one under Arie left the human body and disappeared and the one on him was riding him like a human riding a bull. The thing was spitting fire and its eyes were shooting fire as it tried to enter the cat’s soul or body. Arie twisted and threw the thing off. It could not assimilate into the animal spirit and lay on the floor squirming as Arie stood over it and bit it suddenly on the neck. The thing caught fire burning the flesh of the human body as it rose in a fire tube form and disappeared.

Lionhawk was battling two at once. They had produced the appearance of swords but actually looked like fire brands The beings had split and one was trying to jump on Lionhawk from behind while the other one was keeping him busy from the front. Lionhawk was pushing the one in the front back as it spit fire at him. The blue flame of the sword was shooting sparks every time it hit the fire brand. The being behind Lionhawk’s’ back started to jump on him when Arie landed on it and pushed it to the floor. It screamed like a banshee when Arie bit it on the neck and exited the human body and disappeared. Lionhawk fought the other one up against a wall but it ducked away and turned. When it turned it threw the fire brand like a spear at Arie. Lionhawk reached out just in time to catch the spear like thing and it wrenched him around. His hand was a solid blue beam of light as he held onto the fire brand. The thing began to burn brighter and Lionhawk was brought to his knees while holding the thing. The last being in the room let the human body fall away from its true form and standing there it was a solid looking flame with black spots swirling around its outside. It ran at Lionhawk with the intent to assimilate into his soul. Lionhawk was so locked into fighting the fire brand spear that he did not see the being running at him. As the Burnsacka jumped to land on Lionhawk the blue beam streak hit it from the side and knocked it away. Arie and the Burnsacka were locked in a circle of blue and orange red. Lionhawk was writhing with the spear thing; he brought it down on the floor as it continued to shoot forth this way and that. Getting it to the floor with all his strength he held it in place while he brought his sword down and hit it on one end. The thing blazed with a blinding yellow light and then turned black and lay still. Lionhawk let it go and stood. He took his sword and hacked the thing in the middle and it disappeared. He turned just in time to see the blue circle beam open like a lion’s mouth and clamp on the orange red circle. The thing turned into a brand or stick that looked like a twig that rolled off the logs of a fire and was hot and bright but was quickly loosing its heat. It finally turned black and disappeared.

The two Burnsacka assimilated humans that were at the far end of the room when the battle started watched as their kind fought and left the human carcasses. They also watched as their group members disappeared. The blue beams had hurt their eyes as they watched. Both had dissimulated themselves from the human carcasses and exited the room while the fighting was going on. They found their way back to the furnace pits and told their group what had just transpired. One of them said “we have been discovered so we either fight or return to the home world”. “We must wait and see what becomes of this, the Great Torchurer must know but we shall wait and see first.

Lionhawk’s hand had become blue white while holding the burning spear thing and it was still blazing with blue light. The sword blade had become a dull bluish tint once more and Aries eyes were also dull in tint. His hand began to feel cool once more but had burned so horribly while he was holding that stick of fire. The room where they had fought had become a shambles and the human bodies were lying around. They both noticed that there was no life in any of them and as Hava had said the flesh was useless from the time the Burnsacka had assimilated into it. While they were getting ready to notify Mark and Jim to come in and clean the computers, the human bodies began to glow and they saw the lights rising from each one. As the lights rose towards the ceiling the bodies began to turn to dust. The lights disappeared through the ceiling and Arie noticed two more at the far end of the room, he mentioned this to Lionhawk. Lionhawk said he thought there were more than what they fought off. He went to the door and called Mark and Jim.

Hava/Luun began to catch the spirit/souls as they came into the universe and carried them to the Divine Creator. They all became one and Hava/Luun returned to Illya as he was coming through a tunnel of water on his way to this plane again. Jesse Hammond was born to Jake and Molly Hammond on November 10th of 2035.

Shadowself had taken a headband from her day pack that she had retrieved from a private place in their home, and secured it around her head. The headband had come to her from a distant relative when she was a small child in this time line. It had small runes and ancient Scottish words on it. The band was about 1” wide and where it tied in the back was a longer leather cord that had some kind of stone ornaments tied at the end. They had floated up the stairwell and were standing in the landing area while she looked out the window. She saw no activity so she pushed the door open and they entered the corridor. The elevator was to their left and the double doors to the circular corridor around the vehicle garage were to their right. The door to the Guard or vehicle crews’ room was just 10 feet to their right. She could see Chephirah’s eyes starting to glow with the bluish tint and they were getting brighter. Maria noticed that Shadowself’s eyes were glowing brighter. She thought to herself the blue eyes looked so pretty and she saw the blue light starting to excel outward from her face. Shadowself pulled her sword from its scabbard and the blade was glowing with the bluish tint. The names on the blade glowed in a golden shine. Shadowself pulled a wrapping out from the hilt and wrapped it around her hand as she gripped the hilt. All three moved to the door and Shadowself peered in.

When Smoko had come through the gate he was told to assimilate a specific human bag. He had been shown how to do it by Burntfeat who was one of the first to come here. Smoko was to take a human bag that was part of a warrior class on this world. When he had first come through he almost froze on the spot until he was quickly rushed to a large fire pit that was burning constantly. He quickly jumped in and felt a little better. It was not quite what he was used to but it served to keep him from freezing solid. He was told that once he assimilated into the human bag he would be able to survive on this world and sure enough once he took control of the bag he was in, it helped tremendously. It was hard for him to fathom how these being lived at all without actually living on a star or Sun as these bags called it.

Where he and his kind came from all beings lived on the stars. The outer balls of dust did not support life as he knew it. As he and his group sat around playing the favorite game of Fire and Ice. He had thought about going back home. The game was played to defeat the opponent with death which was Ice. Each player had 6 cubes, 3 were Ice balls and 3 were stars. The cubes were laid down so no one could see them. Each player had to touch a cube with a finger of pure star fire. If the cube caught fire it was turned over and if it was a star the player would then pass the play to another. When the star fire fizzled out, the cube turned over was a ball of ice. The player had to then choose a cube from another player and touch it. If it was a ball of ice the player had to continue around the table until he received a star. If he continued to receive balls of ice and turned 6 over he would die and be eliminated. If he received 6 stars in a row then he won the game and they started over. As the elimination proceeded with players the game became harder because the eliminated players cubes would be taken off the table. All 6 of them had just begun a new game when a cold breeze made them all stop and look at the door. It was standing wide open. Firewead stood up and walked over to close the door. He looked out into the corridor and shrugged at not seeing anything. Moltenbreath looked at him and said, “That has never happened before, something seems strange”. Ashrock stood and walked around the table Bero and Canicus both jumped up and looked around wildly. Both of them were holding their arms close to their bodies saying “something very cold is in this room” all of them began to huddle together. Smoko was feeling like he did when he first came through the gate.

Shadowself had wanted to keep Maria out of the room as she and Chephirah fought the beings but she had come through the door with both of them. Shadowself told her to stand against a wall out of the way and stay cloaked. If something happened to her and Chephirah Maria was to wait for the right moment and escape and tell the others what had happened. Maria acknowledged and moved to a wall close to the door. She had taken out her TMG and set it for a distant Ice world after watching the game that these beings were playing. Shadowself moved to a advantage point so she could uncloak and Chephirah followed suit to the other side of these beings. They both knew that they had to be uncloaked to be effective in battle with these things.

Shadowself watched two of the assimilated humans leave the room. She almost decloaked at that point to keep them all in the room but decided to wait. As soon as they both left she watched the others as they begin to move apart. One turned and walked towards the back of the room. He walked to a wall and began to fiddle with some kind of thermostat on the wall. The other three continued to walk around the table. She calculated the time of surprise and decloaked herself. At the same time Chephirah became visible. The beings around the table were so startled they all just stood there looking in a frightened gaze. What they saw was a human appear with a blue beam extending in front of it by its hand and the eyes of the human blazed with blue white light. It was terrible and it hurt to look at so they turned there heads to keep from looking at it. Smoko had walked back to turn the heat up and when he did he turned around to see the human and then looked to the other side of the room and saw another being with the bluish white light extending from its eyes.

Chephirah watched the being in the back and immediately ran straight at it. When she approached within 10 feet she jumped into a blue white streak and landed on the assimilated human. Smoko had watched the animal being running and began to spew fire from his mouth and eyes. He started to move but it was too late when the animal being hit him full force. He fell back and exited the human carcass as it fell to the floor. The animal being leaped from the carcass as it fell and turned so quickly that Smoko had no time to counter attack before the animal being was on him. His scream was like a banshee and he tried to assimilate into the animal being. He could not succeed and then the animal thing bit him. The bite shot blue white light through him and it was Ice. He screamed and screamed as his fire was extinguished and he disappeared from this dimension.

Shadowself had waded into the three assimilated humans around the table. Her sword whistled through the air and made contact with the first one and it screamed as it left the human bag and disappeared. She brought the sword back and hit the second one in its arm. It screamed and dropped the human bag and backed up. Hot liquid fire was seeping from its arm where the sword had mad contact but it was still coherent enough to charge back at the Blue white human. When it charged the stick was thrust forward and entered its center area. It was spitting fire and its eyes were shooting flames but it was all to no avail as the blue white being pushed the stick with a deadly force into it and the eyes shot blue white light back to force the fire back into it.

Moltenbreath’s arm was oozing liquid fire when he dropped the human bag and when he had charged back to assimilate the blue human the blue white stick entered his mid section and it felt so cold it was the ice death to him. The Blue white being in front of him was pushing the ice into him deeper and the beings eyes were forcing his own flames back. He tried to spit fire but that was forced back into him also. The blue white stick was turning him into ice and he began to scream just before he was moved back to his home dimension on a ball of ice where his flame was extinguished.

Ashrock had watched Smoko be dispatched and turned to see Firewead drop the human bag and disappear. He was moving around the table area when the blue white human was fighting with Moltenbreath and watched him drop the human bag and then try to assimilate the blue human. All of the battle with the blue animal being and the blue human was taking place at once as he moved to jump on the human. He dropped the human bag and stumbled over something. The fire was spewing from his mouth and eyes as he approached the blue human as it was dispatching Moltenbreath. He noticed a light around the humans head. It was like a ring and it had small lighted symbols that were bright blue white. He was getting ready to jump on the human to assimilate it when a heavy object hit him from behind. He turned to see what it was and there was another human standing in front of him. The human swung something at him and knocked him down. His fire grew hotter as he started to stand up when a blue white streak hit him again and he felt a very cold icy thing enter his throat. He screamed wickedly and left this dimension.

Shadowself had been burned on her forearm and hand where she had grabbed the fiery thing while she was pushing the blade into it. A bluish white light began to surround her hand and arm and the blackened areas began to heal. Chephirah and Maria stood together as she sat down and waited for the swirling blue white light to complete its motions. While she sat, the human bodies began to light up and the lights floated up from them towards the ceiling and then they began to turn to dust. Shadowself said “there are still two of these beings left so we must find them and dispatch them. They all left the room and headed for the vehicle garage.

Bero and Canicus had both left the room when the cold had been felt. They were the newest from their home world to enter this world. They had been showed how to assimilate into the human bags and had been given two to assimilate. When they left the room they quickly made their way to the large space where the wheeled metal boxes stayed. They had thought about taking one and escaping from the cold that had invaded their game. They could not see what it was that had given them the feeling that a great danger had come upon them. Their thought was to go into the world and assimilate into different human bags and to escape. Arriving in the area they went to the wheeled box and turned it on. They had moved it towards the opening closure and pressed the button on the consol to open the thing. They moved and the opening closure did not move. The wheeled box ran into it with such a force that it smashed in the front. They both had been thrown into the front glass part and the box became still. Bero was the first to get up and open the door to exit the box. Canicus stirred and jumped up and joined him. Standing out side of the box in the large room, they both felt a cold breeze and looked at the far side of the room. The double doors were standing open.

Shadowself had peered through the windows in the doors and saw the vehicle smashed against the exterior large door to the cave outside. She did not see the assimilated humans so she pushed the doors open and passed into the garage with Chephirah and Maria. They had cloaked again and once inside they all moved to a back wall. They all saw the vehicle smoking from the front and as they watched the two assimilated humans jumped out of the wreck. Chephirah took off and padded around the perimeter of the garage. Shadowself told Maria to stay put and walked towards the assimilated humans. As she walked toward the two assimilated humans she turned off the cloak and became visible. As she did this, Chephirah became visible closer to the assimilated humans.

Canicus was the first to see the Blue White human become visible as she was walking towards them. Bero made a burning crackling sound and touched Canicus as he saw the animal being with bluish white eyes shinning so brightly that it hurt to look at. Both of them immediately dropped the human bags and moved away as the bodies fell to the floor. Shadowself slowed her walk as she saw the human bodies fall and the fire beings step to the side. The beings looked like bipeds but were a column of fire. The black pieces or spots were moving around their entire columns. The eyes where they were located on the top of the flames began to shoot flames forward and the mouth opened wide and spit fire in globs. As she continued to move towards them she witnessed the growth of spears or fire brands from their hands or what she thought was their hands. Chephirah had begun to run when she became visible. One of the fire beings raised its arm and was getting ready to throw the fire brand when the blue white streak of Chephirah hit it with full force. She knocked the fire column to the floor and both forces began to swirl in a circle. The one still standing threw the fire brand at Shadowself. She saw it coming and ducked to the side as the fire spear shot by her. When she ducked she continued to move towards the being. The thing grew another spear or sword as soon as it released the first one and moved towards Shadowself. They both met and began to battle in a sword fight. The Blue White blade hit the flaming fire blade and sparks flew in a shower. Every time the blades struck, the sparks rippled around the room. Shadowself was in perfect form of parry and thrust with her blade and the fire column was fighting back to keep her blade away. Her head band was glowing with each rune. The stone ornaments were swinging around her shoulders as she dodged and charged into the fight. She was pushing the being back towards the wrecked vehicle when the headband started to fully light and the runes began to spin around. She made a lunge and struck the being in the side. It screamed so horribly that for a moment Shadowself hesitated.

Bero had caught the Blue White animal being with full force as it hit him and they both fell back to the floor. The fire and ice began to swirl and the battle was fierce. Bero was flaming himself hotter and hotter as the ice was becoming colder. The fire fought off the ice as it tried to bite it in the neck area. Bero had taken hold of the animal beings head and was pushing it away with all his strength. What he did not know was how an animal being such as was on him fought in a reality. As he continued to hold the head and tried his own defense of spitting fire into the being, He felt an icy cold enter his middle. The blue white being had brought its hind feet up and started a mechanical action of raking across his middle, the ice crept into him and he started to spew his fire out of his mid section. He began to scream with unbearable pain as the ice spread through him. The last thought he had was lying on a ball of ice as his entire being extinguished itself. Chephirah jumped up and back away from the spot where the fire being had been. She turned to look at Shadowself just in time to see the fire being she was fighting swing his sword thing and hit her in the leg.

Shadowself felt the horrible burning in her right leg as the being swung a glancing blow into her. She heard the hissing sound and glanced long enough to see smoke roiling from her leg. It almost knocked her over from the shear force and pain. She stumbled back and then recovered just as the column of fire moved in for a killing blow. The fire brand blade was raised over the beings head as it intended to bring it down on Shadowself’s head. She side stepped as the being swung the fire brand down. Her leg was burning with excruciating pain as she swung her own sword with all of her power and it connected across the mid section of the fire column.

She slashed and fell to the floor in her movement to not be hit with the fire brand. Her blade had opened a large gash in the being and liquid fire spewed forth. As she hit the floor her ear drums almost exploded from the screeching sound coming from the being. She watched in horror as the being writhed in pain and disappeared. Her leg was on fire as she sat up and then tried to stand. Maria was standing in front of her of a sudden and reached both arms out to help her up. Chephirah had walked over and was behind her. The cat nudged her from the back as Maria grabbed her from the front and they both got her to her feet. They all turned and began to make their way to the open double doors leading to the corridor. Walking toward the doors Shadowself felt faint and so hot. She began to stumble and turned very pasty so Maria stopped and so did Chephirah as they both watched Shadowself begin to fall forward. Maria held her and Chephirah moved closer until all three where hugging each other tightly. The pear shaped crystal on Chephirah’s forehead began to glow as did the one on Maria and Shadowself’s necklaces As the crystals glowed brighter the light began to glow from their hearts and swirl around them. The light became a solid swirling tube and shot straight up through the ceiling. As they entered the universe they became one with Hava/Luun and the burning ceased to exist. The one moved to the edge and the 3 of light came to be in the physical world again and found their selves standing in the garage.

Mark and Jim both entered the large computer room and saw the battle scene. Tables and chairs and some of the closer computer stations were demolished. There were burn marks on the floor and the walls and piles of dust in certain areas on the floor. Mark and Jim both looked at Lionhawk and Arie to make sure they were not injured and then started to inspect the computers. The ones that were demolished they just used the TMG’s and moved them to the place that Hava had showed them. As they inspected the ones that were still operating they began to discover data about the humans that had been captured and brought here. These people’s lives had been tracked through data that the government had created over the years and the Burnsacka just hacked the data bases to find the humans that suited their needs. Jim had found mass areas that were being set up for assimilation centers. The Burnsacka were quite busy in preparations to assimilate in large groups once they began to come through from their home worlds. The one gate, that was deep in the bowls of this old mine, had been placed there thousands of years in the past and then covered and locked. Forgotten until the humans had discovered it and accidentally unlocked it and opened it so it could be used. The elders had been notified and assembled a few to explore thus some had come through. The computers showed how they planned to bring through the necessary materials to build other gates and where these would be located on this world. Jim and Mark both opened the computers of all this information and then began to delete it all. Once the process began to show completion they had already set the TMG’s for the asteroid that Evelyne had showed them in their minds. They pressed the buttons on the Gizmo’s and the room became bare of electronics. The desks were the only thing left standing. The back wall that had all the monitors was bare also. They all moved to the far end of the room and opened the door to leave. As soon as the door opened a strong breeze held them back for a moment and it blew through the room and the dust piles swirled and filled the air and then just disappeared. The company entered the large cavern and moved toward the area where the humans where being held captive.

82 MICROSCOPIC WORMS AND DISENFECTANT

The elevator had dropped fairly rapidly but it did not give discomfort to them like some of the others had. They watched the meter move fairly quickly and then the needle approached the 2000 foot mark and slowed to a stop. Carolyne stood at the front of the car and waited for the door to open. Kristyl was standing to her side with her TMG at the ready. Kevin and Bill stood directly behind her. The car door slowly opened, which they all thought was a bit odd, and standing in front of them was a very scary looking human being. The man or thing was around 6 feet in height but it was a Hugh shaped blob. Its face had sagged down to where the mouth was resting where the neck should have been. The eyes were sagging at odd angles and both drooped to each side of the nostrils of the nose. The nose itself was flat against the face and the nostril openings almost did not exist. There were open blisters all over the head and face and the creatures arms were hanging to the knees. Like the face and head there were open blisters on the arms and the hands. The hands themselves were grotesques. The fingers had grown twice the length and had become 3 times the thickness. The legs were thick like tree trunks but shortened and the feet looked like duck flippers only very thick. A trail of fluid was behind and down the corridor where the thing had walked or slid. Carolyne backed up and fell against Bill as the creature tried to talk or make a sound. The mouth was nothing more than an elongated slit on its face. The sound that escaped was a wrenching gargle but the word help could be made out from it.. The thing raised its arm very slowly and looked like it was going to step forward when it fell to the floor in a heap of dying flesh.

They all watched in horror as the thing fell forward, the stench of the thing made them all gag as it hit the floor in a big whop on the deck. Carolyne was the first to cover her face with a bandana. The thing had tattered clothing on the body that looked like it was a military uniform at one time. As it hit the deck they all were treated to more horror as the flesh began dissolving in front of them. Carolyne noticed how the skin covering the body was writhing just before it dissolved. It looked like worms or maggots swarming on a dead carcass of an animal. Kristyl was gagging and ready to lose here lunch when Kevin twisted his TMG and sent the mess to the sun. They all had backed up to the back of the car while the horror was happening. When the thing disappeared they all took a deep breath and stood holding each other. The slime trail was still in the corridor but Bill had set his TGM for the same place that Kevin did and cleaned the corridor. The stench was dissipated so they all moved from the car and stood in speechless horror at what had just happened.

Carolyne was the first to speak and told every body to take an extra dose of the pills she had given them. They did not hesitate and each one found the bottles and swallowed the pill. Kevin started to take another but Carolyne stopped him and said that is enough. Kristyl asked “what was that thing, and what was going on with it.” Carolyne said “that poor human was infected with a flesh eating bacteria and something else had been added to it. Back in the early 2000’s that particular bacterium was being experimented with and it managed to be spread in a few places around the world to see how it would work on the human body. The sick scientists that created it were part of a secret society of power hungry military generals. The bacteria did eat the flesh but it was stopped and then renamed some benign virus. It was pulled back in and disappeared from the news services. I suspect they wanted to make it more lethal in a quicker way but it did not come back. What we just witnessed was the more lethal and quicker way. If that thing is loose down here I sincerely hope there is a cure for it somewhere. We may not find any one alive but if we do we must get blood samples to test. If I remember right that thing looked like a worm of some sort in the microscope. It actually had teeth so if it ever became bigger it would be a total nightmare and as it is now it would appear that it is a total nightmare with being on the loose. These pills I have made for us will keep us safe for awhile but if we encounter anymore like we just did do not let it touch you.”

The corridor was not long. There were two doors before the end where a double door system crossed the corridor. As they moved towards the double doors Kevin checked the first door and it led to restrooms one male and one female. There was a short outer room and it had one door that said Storage locker #1 above it. The second door had a small window so Bill peered into it. What he saw in that room turned his stomach and he told everyone that the room was to be avoided. He was having a hard time trying to shake the image of mass chunks of meat piled up and maggot looking worms crawling all over every thing, That door could be locked from the outside so he secured it. He checked the bottom of the door to make sure nothing could escape and when he saw the gasket that completely surrounded the door he felt safer. As he was locking and examining the door something slithered across the window and he was spooked immediately. Carolyne had taken her day pack off and dug around for a few seconds and pulled out a piece of head gear and handed it to Kristyl. She fumbled around some more and pulled one out for every body. “Put these on, you should be able to see the bacteria germs in the air or on any surface. Do not be frightened by what you see because these will magnify those buggers. I would suggest that we all set our TMG’s for that disinfectant called the Sun. When you see these things cleanse the area. We may have already walked through some so for now I suggest we stand with our backs to each other and examine all surfaces around us.

When they all backed up to one another Kevin was looking back at the elevator and saw some worms crawling towards the open door. He promptly sprayed his beam in that direction and the things disappeared. He checked the floor, the ceiling and the walls and did not see anymore. Kristyl was looking at the left side of the corridor and it appeared to be clean. Bill was looking at the right side and the door to what he deemed to be a cafeteria. Apparently the gaskets could not keep the germs in, the things were oozing from the door frame so he began to spray it down and the worms began to disappear but they kept coming. He touched Kevin who jumped and then turned to see the oozing from the door. He turned his Gizmo and began to spray also. It almost seemed that they could not stop the flow of these things when all of a sudden there was no more coming from the room. There were some pockets of the things in the air and both men sprayed them into non existence.

Carolyne kept watching the double doors expecting the things to come through in force but nothing showed. They all moved toward the double doors but kept a Leary eye out for any of the germs or infected humans. Approaching the doors Bill peered through the windows and saw a small group of men and women standing around a table. They all had their backs turned to the door so he could not see their faces. They also were wearing white lab smocks so he thought they were all scientists. Bill backed away from the window and told everyone what he had seen. He said he could not get a good look at the table but he could see what may have been a human being lying on it. Bill told everyone that they should cloak themselves before they entered the lab area. Kristyl heard a strange sound from behind them and turned to see what it was. This place had turned out to be very spooky and even creepy. When she turned she saw an average human being standing in the door to the restroom areas. The man was leaning against the door and weakly waving to them to come. Kristyl began touching every one in the mind thought and they all slowly turned to see the man standing in the door way.

Sergeant Logan Masters had been stationed to this place two years earlier and it seemed to be a quiet non controversial ending to his term in the Army. He was looking forward to becoming a civilian after 8 years. His girl friend Shelly and He had looked at a small 5 acre parcel of land in a remote area of northern New Mexico above Taos. A good friend of his had told him about it and there was a small community of folks living off the land. It was secluded and tucked away from the hustle and bustle of society. When He had first come to the Powder River facility, his duty was to guard the main level or ground base area and he did not mind that. Henry Johnstone had been a good friend and he and Henry would go to the small town on times off and enjoy some drinks and playing pool at a local bar. It was just about 3 months ago that he had been moved to guard the lowest level of the underground bunker. The scientists all seemed to be okay at first, until about a week into his duties all but Sally Winestock became very mean and disrespectful to him. They treated him like some private little slave of theirs. It was not long that he started hating to come down here. If it was not for Sally he would have deserted long ago.

Three weeks ago is when things started to become very strange. He began to notice the change in the atmosphere and the people became very irritable. He also started noticing the physical changes in the scientists and then Dr. Sumara turned up dead one morning No one was told how he died and the high command hushed it all up. Two weeks ago two more scientists and two of his men turned up dead. He had gotten a chance to see the bodies and it was so gross that he had vomited for two hours in the men’s restroom. The people did not resemble humans any longer and he had nightmares about what he had seen. Three days later, Sally was found dead and he was so upset and at a loss that he almost left that night. The base had been put on lockdown and he could not get out. The gate guard acted as if he was controlled by some unknown entity. Logan knew that the scientists had been experimenting with germs and bacteria but he did not exactly know what. He had his suspicions that the people dying were being afflicted with something that had been created down here. He had been given an inoculation by one of the Armies medical doctors just before he was sent down here so hopefully that was keeping him safe. However, when two more of his men had died, he began to doubt his safety.

It was three days ago now that he had been trapped down here because 4 more people had died, three scientists and Private Green. That had left 5 scientists and two more of his men. The cafeteria had 4 people working the kitchen and tables. Yesterday Corporal Mansk could not be found and Private Haggerty was in the cafeteria when he became very sick. Logan had been sitting at a table by himself when the Private began to vomit and bleed from his mouth. He watched large patches of hair literally fall from his head and then as he was moving towards the door the kitchen staff were all moaning and being violently sick. The last thing he saw as he exited was Private Haggerty swelling up. He rushed out and headed towards the elevator hoping beyond hope that it would work. It did not of course so he doubled back and entered the door to the restrooms. Inside the small anti room was another door to a storage locker. The door was a solid steel door that could be locked from the inside. He had hidden in that room through the night or what passed for night time down here. He heard strange noises and screams during the night but had moved to a safer place in the storage room. He kept his sidearm at the ready and in his hand all night. The next morning he heard the elevator working and thought to get out. When he came out and made it to the door that led to the corridor, he cracked it a little to investigate and saw Private Haggerty slowly moving down the corridor toward the elevator. He almost gagged at the smell and the sight of the man. He waited for him to pass the door and then peaked out once more. Haggerty had slid his way to the elevator car door as the needle gage moved to this level. When the door opened he saw a female Colonel and other high ranking officers standing inside the car. He shut the door then and went back to his safety spot and waited. His thoughts of Shelly and that place in New Mexico were the only thing that kept him from going stark raving mad.

Carolyne moved towards the man and as she approached she noticed the firearm in his hand. She slowed her pace and looked at him closely with the head gear. He did not appear to have any of the germ creatures on his exterior but she could not be sure of his inside and whether he was infected until she reached into his mind and performed another given and learned gift from the book she had read in that special place of dream. She had learned how to observe other flesh and spirits as a complete whole from inside out. As she examined the man she found him to be completely clean of any of the bacteria. In fact the man was in perfect condition and more pure in physical form than any others she had seen. He did appear to be exhausted and worried in the emotional sense so she approached and began to speak into his mind.

The man began to relax as Carolyne introduced herself and all the other team members. He finally holstered his pistol the more she spoke to him. She had read his thoughts of Shelly and the piece of ground in New Mexico and explained to him how she could send him and shelly there if he really wanted to go. He had totally relaxed his physical body and his mind wanted to go beyond belief. Carolyne asked him if he knew what had been going on in this facility and what had happened. He told here that he had heard about germ warfare being experimented on here but he had been shut away from any further information than to just be a Guard for the elevator. He told her all that had transpired to his knowledge in the past 3 weeks. He also told her of the mysterious deaths and how the people that died looked like and finally he came to the last night and then watching Haggerty die the horrible death he did. Finally Carolyne asked if he knew how many people were left down here. Logan told her that he thought there might be 5 scientists left in the lab and possibly one of his men that had gone missing. He was pretty sure that those six people were all that was left. He then asked her what was happening to the people down here and would it be happening to him too.

Carolyne told him first that he seemed to be immune to the bacteria germs. He had not contacted any thing down here and if he was going to it would have been by now. “The germ research and experimentation appears to have gotten out of hand and almost every one down here has paid for it with their lives. If this thing escapes from here, it could be that millions of lives could be lost in a very short amount of time.” We intend to stop it here.” Logan looked at her and asked if there was any way he could help. She had been waiting for him to venture forth with his own consent. She told him that he could be a great help if he would donate a tiny bit of his blood so she could find a cure that would stop the outbreak of the germs. These things have been created by the scientists you saw down here. This thing had been created a long time ago but was shelved until it could be perfected as a weapon. Logan held out his left arm and said “Take what you need and let’s get on with cleansing this place. Once this is done you can send Shelly and I to that place where we can live in peace.” Carolyne looked around him and said “is there a safe place in there we can work?” He said “yes there is a storage locker in here and we can lock the door from the inside. I have jerry rigged the lock so it cannot be undone from the outside.”

They all moved into the storage locker which was quite big. There were racks of all sorts of lab equipment and solutions. There was a small table towards the back with a couple of chairs. Logan had locked the door as they all moved inside and waited for Carolyne to speak. She asked him to move to the table while she searched for a microscope and some fluids she would need. She then asked Bill and Kevin to do something that was important but a dangerous task. She needed a specimen of the bacterial germs. Bill and Kevin both flinched but set themselves to doing that job. Kristyl walked up to Kevin and wrapped her arms around him and kissed him hard on the mouth. She looked in his eyes and said “you will be very careful and get back here as quickly as possible” because if you don’t and you get hurt, I will beat you, do you understand?” Kevin smiled and then kissed her back. Bill and Carolyne had moved over to a secluded place and talked quietly while holding each other. Bill walked over to a rack and retrieved a couple of vials that had rubber sealed lids and put those in his pocket of the jacket he was wearing. Carolyne walked back to the table where Logan was sitting and Kristyl walked to the door as the two men went out. She then locked it and went back to the area where Carolyne and Logan were. She watched Carolyne take a syringe and draw some blood from Logan’s arm and place it in a Petri dish. She them took some and put it on a glass slide and place it under the scope.

Bill slowly opened the door to the corridor and peeked out. The corridor was still empty. He and Kevin both had the head gear on so they could see the worm germs. Both of them still had the TMG’s set for the Sun. Bill told Kevin that they could hopefully get some specimens from the cafeteria area where he had seen the gruesome scene of dead people. They would have to be very careful and he took another pill out and swallowed it. Kevin watched him do that and did the same. As they approached the door Kevin was watching the corridor in every direction he could as he spun around while walking. Bill was focused on the door to the cafeteria and they both came up and Bill peered into the room. The great lump of flesh was gone or dissolved and he could not see any of the worm germs where it had been. As he looked further he noticed some movement just above the counter top towards the kitchen area. At first it looked like smoke or something then he saw the swarm of worm germs rising and falling, it gave him the creeps but he knew that he and Kevin were going to have to go in and get the samples that Carolyne needed. He also knew that there were still live humans in the lab at the end of the corridor. He thought that they could go there and gather the specimen they needed rather than chance the complete exposure they may get in the cafeteria. He spoke into Kevin’s Mind and told him the better plan.

As Bill and Kevin approached the double doors to the lab, they both cloaked themselves. Bill walked up to the window in one of the doors and peered in. He could not see anyone this time and wondered where they might have gotten to. He did see the man on the lab table. He still looked normal so maybe he had not been infected yet. He decided to take the chance of entering the lab and slowly pushed the door open enough so he and Kevin could enter. They both slid into the lab and slowly let the door close. Kevin noticed the man on the table and let his gaze move around the fairly large room. He stopped when he saw the wall with windows in it to their right. In that room were the 5 scientists. They were all sitting at desks and looking through microscopes. He could not see their faces as they had them looking down at the moment. Bill had made his way over to the man on the table and when he approached he pulled out the vial and a small medical knife. He proceeded to scrape some skin gently into the vial. He then pulled another vial out and a needle and took some blood from the man. The man did not stir and Kevin thought he was either dead or heavily drugged. He could not see if the man was breathing from his location but he kept an eye on the interior research lab and the people in it. Bill had finished his gathering process and saw something on a desk that made him veer to it and gather it into his jacket. He hurried back to Kevin and spoke to his mind saying they had to leave immediately.

The lab door to the corridor had just closed when Dr Grindschutz entered the lab from the research room. He stopped suddenly and sniffed the air like an animal might in search of food. He looked around and waddled his way to the specimen on the table. When he reached the table he sniffed the air once more and knew that something or some one had been in the room just recently. He kept this in mind as he began to complete his task. He pulled a large hypodermic needle from his lab coat and removed the cap over the needle and took the arm of the specimen and stuck the needle into his vein. The barrel of the syringe had around 10 cc’s of greenish fluid and he pumped the entire amount into the specimen. He checked the heart rate and felt the specimens head. As he waited for the fluid to enter the system he sniffed the air once again and turned towards the double doors. He kept starring at the doors when Dr Kraughtstein came into the room and questioned him. “Is their something wrong?” Dr Grindschutz said “something or some one has been in here in the last 15 minutes. I can smell the stench of humans.” Dr Kraughtstein sniffed the air and shook his head in agreement. “We shall find this human and use him like this one and make him become one of us but for now you must finish the procedure on this one. How far have you gotten?” “I have injected the final solution into the specimen. It should begin to work within the next hour or two depending on the specimens overall makeup like we went through.” Dr Kraughtstein shook his head and said “let us go back to the business of creating the aerosol for the delivery system once we reach the surface. We must be diligent. We will only have a certain amount of time before we become discovered.”

Bill and Kevin hurried to the door leading to the restrooms and entered the little anti room. Both uncloaked as Bill tapped on the Storage door. Kristyl opened the door and Let them in. Bill hurried to the back where Carolyne and Logan were and gave the samples to Carolyne. He told her what he had discovered and showed the research papers to her. She took them and read them quickly and said “Oh my God, These insane people have managed to create the hybrid germs and cross bread the things into human beings.” Logan looked at her with a look of not understanding. By that time Kevin and Kristyl had both made it back to the area and they also were waiting for an explanation. Carolyne looked at all of them for a moment and forged ahead with her explanation as best she could. “Back in the late 20th Century the Military had experimented with germ warfare. It all actually started way before that but the world was not ready to embrace that stuff anymore and in fact after the First World War in the early teens of the 20th Century germ warfare had been banned around the world. So the military began doing secret testing with all kinds of germs. They tested these things out on foreign countries all over the world and it really never got out what they were doing. All the epidemics where blamed on viruses and so forth. The flu was a manmade warfare disease that was created during the First World War and actually killed more humans than any bombs or bullets did. It swept the world and millions of people got sick and died. That particular virus was spread with vaccines and people continued to die right up until vaccines were banned in 2021.”

“So back to this particular bacteria, It had been created as I said in the late 20th Century and was released in small pockets during the early 2000’s to test it for validity and sure enough it actually ate brain mater and body parts of humans. It was a horrible way to die and nothing could be found to counteract the disease. It was pulled back in by the military to find the cure for it and possible use it in another way. Well here is the other way, they tried to restructure it to create their super soldiers but it kept killing the personnel that they used for experiments. You all have seen what it does to a normal human being. But this research that Bill has brought shows and proves that they have perfected their goal of creating something that is mostly a human sized bacterial germ that can eat flesh. This leads me to believe that those five scientists that may still be down here and alive are nothing more than these creatures and very dangerous I might add. If they are allowed to get out it will not be very pretty for the greater population.” Bill looked at Logan and said “I think I know what happened to your other man that you said went missing.” Logan looked at him and said “you saw Corporal Mansk?” Bill said “yes if that is his name, there was a man in a corporal’s uniform laying on a table in that lab. I would not place any hope in him being alive as a human any longer though. He looked as if he was being transformed into something.”

Carolyne had tested Logan’s blood and put it through some other tests in the equipment she had found on the racks. His blood was extraordinary in that it appeared to be immune to any kind of disease. She had taken the specimens that Bill brought back and ran them through the testing and saw what had been added to make them mutate to the human system. Instead of eating the flesh and interior organs it actually cohabitated and caused the human genes/DNA to mutate to become like it and bond to itself without destroying the body of the human. In the process it distorted the human body to resemble its worm like appearance, mostly in the head of the human and the interior organs. The brain remained but all resemblance of humanity was transferred into the thoughts and intelligence of the bacterial brain.

Carolyne took Logan’s blood and put it in the Petri dish of the bacterial creature. As she added Logan’s blood the creature shrank away and started to boil in appearance. She watched as the bacterial blood dissolved until there was none left. Logan’s blood had actually attacked the bacteria and did the reverse to it as what it was suppose to do to humans in the beginning. She had prepared an inoculation solution for everyone and shot each in the arm. Logan did not need any of course so Carolyne gave him a dose of energy instead. She began to explain that if one of the creatures attacked them they would be boiled away if they got a bite. As it would be, if they went to the lab in force and confronted the creatures, their very presence would cause the creatures to retreat. If they would advance and just touch the things then the creatures would begin to dissolve. After awhile she picked up a canister with a spray nozzle and said “This is the major disinfectant we will spay all over down here before we leave. I have synthesized this and added it to 3 more canisters so when we are done on this level we must go up to the next level and do the same just to be sure.

Logan’s energy had been steadily building up when Carolyne had told everyone what their plans were. He asked if he could join them in destroying these things. Carolyne told him that he would be busy getting he and Shelly to New Mexico. As she spoke she opened the portal to the apartment in Powder River and told him to step in to the living room area and gather what he would need. She said Shelly has already been told and shown what is to come. As Logan looked he saw Shelly come from the bedroom with a suitcase and two small bags. She stopped and looked straight at him and said “are you coming?” He stepped through and the portal closed while he gathered his meager belongings. He changed his clothes and stuffed his uniform into a trash chute. When he came back out of the bedroom and stood next to Shelly a portal opened and they both saw a dome house surrounded by trees. Carolyne spoke to their minds and told them to step into their new lives. She told them that she would see them again in the near future. Logan and Shelly stepped into the forest and walked to the gate at the fence around the dome. Henry had been told by a man named Nick in his dreams to meet him and he would get them all settled. A portal had opened for Henry to the little dome house and he met Logan and Shelly. After they had been settled the portal opened once more for Henry and he stepped back into his cabin and cuddled with Marci.

On the table in the lab, what was once Corporal Mansk opened its eyes and sat up. The thing was hungry as it moved its legs over the side and stood up. A door opened and it noticed some more of its kind walking towards it. They had plates of meat in their hands as they approached and he began to feed. The meat dissolved in the slit of a mouth. Whenever the thing opened its mouth many rows of teeth that looked like sharks teeth could be seen. The mouth spewed forth a green substance that started the dissolving process as the food disappeared into the slit of a mouth. The things head was hairless and looked like an elongated ball or the end of a very fat finger. The eyes were nothing but slits in the head and they were located more towards the sides. The nose area had become just another stretched piece of skin with two holes for nostrils. Where the ears used to be there were only two holes. The entire head or what might pass for a head had no distinction of a head with a neck but rather just a straight tube to the shoulder area. The shoulder area almost continued the tube shape along the body. The human body had become more like the body of a worm with arms and legs. The hands and feet were almost entirely web shaped. As the newest piece of the collective finished feeding they all turned towards the lab doors and began to slowly move towards it. They all were sniffing the air as if they were on a blood hunt.

As soon as Logan had left and Carolyne had moved him and Shelly to the place in New Mexico, They all gathered themselves for the coming sterilization of this place. They moved to the storage door and entered the anti room. All of them turned the cloaking device on and moved to the corridor door. Bill opened it just a tiny bit and saw no one in the corridor so they all moved into the corridor and two went to one side while the other two went to the other side. Moving down the corridor toward the lab doors they all stopped abruptly as the lab doors began to open. Kristyl and Kevin both had the TMG’s ready while Carolyne and Bill had the spray containers held at the ready. When the doors swung open they all saw the horrible things sliding out of the lab. Carolyne had seen these things under the microscope and when she saw them in human size almost in human form she became queasy in her stomach. The things all slid out and stopped just a few feet from the doors. They all were sniffing the air as if some smell had them captivated. Carolyne had been thinking that she had to test the inoculation somehow so she walked towards the worm germs and stopped about 10 feet in front of them. Bill had been so mesmerized with the creatures he did not notice Carolyne move forward until she came into vision just in front of the things.

She became visible just as he was starting to move in her direction. The worm germs all saw her appear and started to make a very strange deep growling sound as they moved towards her. She moved to the first one and touched it. The others stopped when she moved so fast they almost could not see her. When she touched the leader of the collective it began to jiggle and thrash wildly. The green fluid gushed from its mouth and splashed on its own body. It started to howl or so it seemed and then the body fell into thousands of small worms and kept breaking down into millions of microscopic germs as they dissolved from the disinfectant of Carolyne’s touch. One other tried to rush Carolyne but she moved so fast and touched it, the thing froze in its slime trail and did the same thing the first one did. The other four turned painfully slow and began to move towards the lab doors.

Bill had begun to move as soon as he realized what Carolyne had done but stopped and watched the whole scene in slow motion. Kristyl and Kevin both had been mesmerized like bill at the creatures and then watched Carolyne just appear in front of the things and touch the first one. That had further given them pause as the thing broke into millions of parts until they could not see them anymore. They all had the head gear and watched a green mist rise from the spot where the human sized thing had been. The mist rose to about 2 feet from the floor and then just dissipated. They all watched the second one do the same and then noticed that the remainder of the things had turned as if one and moved towards the lab doors. Bill had made it to Carolyne and began spraying the container at the things. When the spray fell upon them they all stopped and the cacophony of screeching and growling filled the corridor as the things virtually fell apart into the green mist and then dissolved. Bill turned and entered the cafeteria and began to spray the air in the entire room. The green mist in that room just dissolved until there was nothing left. Bill filled every room, space and area within the cafeteria with the spray, until he was satisfied that none of the worm germs could survive then headed back into the corridor. When he came out he noticed that Carolyne was crouched over by the far wall. Kevin and Kristyl were nowhere to be seen. He bent down and knelt beside Carolyne, She was gushing tears. He heard her mind speak to him telling him that the soul/spirits had been trapped and could not escape into the universe. Hava and Luun had to find the microscopic parts and take it all into the universe. Some had lost parts but most had been brought back together. She looked at Bill and said “these things meant to destroy man kind and our spirit/soul.” She then said “my God Bill is there no limit to the depravity of these people or are they really not human beings?”

Kevin and Kristyl entered the lab and began to spray the room with the disinfectant. They filled the air and the floors and walls. As they sprayed they began to see patches of green mist twisting and squirming in the air and on the table where the man had lain. Kevin touched Kristyl and they moved to the interior lab. Kevin opened the door and sprayed the disinfectant through the opening before he moved through. Stepping into the room he saw the floor moving around. He stopped and looked at his feet and then stepped back quickly. He watched as a green mist dissolved from his boots and the stuff dissolved across the floor. Kristyl had stepped in behind him and sprayed the walls and ceiling close to them. She watched as the walls and ceiling began to move and swirl and the green misty looking stuff began to dissolve. She spoke to Kevin saying “it appears that this area was completely covered with these worm germs. Kristyl walked into the room further as the germs dissolved away from the surfaces and looked at the computer stations. The computers were all on and she could not follow the stuff that was on the screens. She reached out in her mind and spoke to Carolyne and asked her to come to the lab and examine the computers with what ever research was on them.

Carolyne and Bill both came into the small research lab and went to the closest computer. Carolyne began to look at the info on the first one and then click through screens. Bill had gone to the next one and did the same. Both of them moved around the computer work stations and performed the same procedures, After studying all the computers as much as they could, Carolyne looked at Bill and then looked at the two other doors in the room. Bill walked to one and slowly opened it and sprayed the disinfectant through the opening. He waited for a few minutes and opened the door wide. The room was not very big but it had all the electronic components for the computers. There were 3 server units and a host of other gear. Bill pulled his TMG, twisted the destination on the dial and shot the beam at all the equipment. After a few minutes the room was bare of anything. Bill shut the door and him and Carolyne both walked to the other door, Carolyne tried the door knob but it was locked. Kevin walked over and took something from his jacket pocket and stuck it into the lock hole on the knob. He began jimmying it around and they all heard the faint sound of tumblers. Kevin pulled the metal pick looking thing out and put it back into his jacket pocket. He reached down and turned the knob and the door started to open. He turned and saw everybody starring at him like some kind of amazing circus performer. He smiled and backed away.

Bill took his spray nozzle and stuck it into the small opening and let loose as much as he could at the moment. He then backed away and they all waited a few minutes. When Bill opened the door there was a large refrigerator on one wall and the place stunk like a meat locker in a butcher house. The room was almost as large as the computer lab. Carolyne had taken Kristyl aside and they both used their TMG’s to empty the bigger room of the computers and any other research that might be available. Bill walked into the “meat locker” and looked to his right. All along the wall were racks with small box like holes. All of the boxes had metal tubes that looked like acetylene tanks of about 20 gallon containers. There were two outlets that looked like connections for air hose on the tops as they saw them. On the side of the two outlets was a gauge that showed the tank full of air or whatever might be in them and the gauge read 200 PSI. One of the nozzles looked like it had some greenish tint of something that may have been pumped into it or taken from the tank. Bill saw that it was the worm germs and when he looked closer he saw the things crawling around on the nozzle. Kevin had walked to the large refrigerator and examined it. The thing was so big that it had two doors that were each 4 feet wide. “What kind of refrigerator would have doors this size?” He started to open one when Bill grabbed his arm and pulled him away from the thing. He motioned for all of them to look at the side of the large box. There was a nozzle on the side that matched the nozzle on the tanks. It looked like it would fit over the tank nozzle. It also had the green tint on it.

Bill moved everyone back and slowly opened the right side of the large refrigerator. Inside were 3 tanks with hoses connected to one nozzle going through the side of the refrigerator, the tanks all had pressure gages on them. There was a pump and motor sitting at the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. All of this was connected to the tanks. Carolyne spoke to everybody about the research and experiments that she had seen on the computers about creating an aerosol to spray in the air that would contaminate the humans on a mass scale. She looked at the containers in the refrigerator and the canisters on the racks of shelves and said “this is their weapon to destroy the human race and become the sole proprietors of this planet. Somewhere is a jet and possibly other means of flight that was going to be outfitted with these tanks. This is what was happening with the Bioengineering back in the mid 20th century through the 20 teens until it was all stopped. It appears these creatures were getting ready to destroy the human race and inhabit this world.” She took her canister of spray and doused the refrigerator and opened the other door. The stench from that side made every body gag. The thing was full of meat that was spoiling, or was planned that way. They all wondered where the meat had come from but Carolyne sprayed it and it all began to break down and dissipated. Bill took his TMG and shinned the blue beam onto the canisters along the wall and they all disappeared. On the sun of our solar system there were small explosions that just happened to be noticed by a backyard telescope belonging to Chris Oberson. He watched the show and thought it was just a small solar flare. Kevin shinned his beam on the refrigerator and it also went to the same place as the aerosol canisters. They all backed out of the room and made sure none of the worms germs were left as they shut the door. They made sure that all the computers, research and experiments were gone as they left the small lab and the large lab. Before they entered the elevator they had disinfected the entire low level and set a discharge up that would cave the level in on itself.

When the elevator door opened on the second level they began spraying the area with the disinfectant. This level was almost empty so the cleansing was fairly easy. They noticed the train cars and a couple of trucks so they were sent to an abandoned area in the still devastated area of Washington DC. They had made sure that the level was clean and took the elevator to the small building at ground level. Looking out of the windows they saw a few Guards and wondered about anyone else that still may be on the ground base. Cloaking themselves they took the path straight out and entered the grounds where the other buildings were located. Whenever they came across some personnel they sent them to the Emperors location in Denver and figured they would sort things out there. Once the base was clean of human beings and there were no more of the worm germs in existence they all stepped out next to the chopper and Carolyne called ODAKOTA and TUSA. The two Prairie dogs scampered over the small hills and down to the chopper. The Crew had all de-cloaked and was standing around waiting when ODAKOTA and TUSA scampered down the hill. They came up and stopped and then stood on their hind legs as Prairie dogs are known to do. Carolyne asked if the area of the base was clear of their families. ODAKOTA told her that his entire coterie and the family had been cleared of the danger areas. Bill opened a portal and stepped through to set the explosions in motion. He moved from level one to level two and back out to the chopper. They all climbed aboard as the rumbling sound began.

Kevin lifted the chopper up to around 100 feet and they all looked at the base as it began to sink in slow motion into a giant sink hole. They watched as it all fell in and the dust became so dense they could not see it. The cloud of coal dust turned the sky dark as the one square mile area sank to about 500 feet below ground level. ODAKOTA and his coterie heard the growling of the earth and as he stood on the top of the second hill away from the tall wire thing, a dark cloud of dust rose up into the sky. The rushing sound of water was almost deafening after the growling of the earth. There were some loud bangs such as he had heard when some of his brothers had ventured to close to the metal things in the earth. The Coterie had all been so curious but he made sure that they did not venture any closer to the noise and dust. After awhile and it was quite awhile the dust began to settle and the water sound was still very loud they all began to skitter down the hill and go up the next one. When they reached the top they all stopped in amazement. There was a giant hole in the earth where the human area had been created. It was filling with water from the underground rivers and soon would be full. He knew that they would be able to move the coterie closer and live in peace with a large body of water next to their town. He heard in his mind the human say, a gift for you my friend enjoy. All of his clan were scampering and skittering around in joy as they found new places to dig burrows. Bill and Carolyne sat in the back of the chopper cabin and talked about the deliverance of the spores and where that might be. Carolyne thought that it might be at the Banner base. There is a small airport there and jets can land and take off. We must get there soon because if they have any of this worm germ stuff there we could be facing a very devastating disaster for the human race. Bill told Kevin to make quick time to Banner and the chopper gathered its speed and shot towards Banner.

83 A PLACEBO AND TINY LIGHTS

"So...about those pills you are taking Aberdeen..." Nick motioned Connie and Aberdeen over to the couch. Connie held Aberdeen's hand fast and felt her heart quicken at what was about to take place. She tucked her dress underneath her as she sat down and she felt Aberdeen's whole body stiffen. She held her breath and looked at Aberdeen, her eyes searching his. "Yes, what about them?" interjected Aberdeen quickly with one raised eyebrow. He was instantly on his guard for he suspected that he was about to be told something rather foreboding.

"Well...we...um...Connie, do you want to say something?" "Um...Aberdeen...." She said slowly and carefully. "Those pills you are taking...they are...um..." She looked upwards and bit her lip to find the words..."They aren't what you may think they are." "What do you mean; they aren't what I think they are?" He said, sounding alarmed. "Do you feel really healthy Aberdeen?" asked Nick, feeling quite sick in his stomach. "Why, you know I do Nick!" exclaimed Aberdeen, feeling more and more perplexed by the whole matter. "You've seen me lopping at those forest branches. If I wasn't feeling up to it and if I wasn't strong enough, I wouldn't even attempt to take them down. I've been working every day for the last month, and if anything, I reckon that I'm now fitter than I've ever been. Can't you see that for yourself Nick? Now seriously, what is this all about?" Nick glanced at Connie and Connie nervously glanced back at Aberdeen. "I don't know how else to say it Aberdeen, my darling but the pills you have been taking for your heart are actually sugar pills." Aberdeen's eyes grew wide and he declared, "Do you mean that the pills I have been taking all this time are a placebo?"

Aberdeen paced the room silently; back and forth like a caged tiger he went. He could make neither heads nor tail of his strange new predicament for he had never stopped to think before about the true potential for self-healing. As he paced deep in thought, he realised that there could be the distinct possibility that his heart had already been healed and that he would no longer need the placebo. Still he paced. The other two sat silently in the room waiting for a word. When it finally came an hour and a bit later, it was one single word. “EUREKA!” He cried triumphantly. Connie’s eyes shone with happiness and relief. She stood up and hugged Aberdeen with an intensity that surprised Aberdeen. Nick soon joined and the happy three held onto each other tightly, for they knew that now they could finish the work that they had begun.

Sitting around the campfire in the early evening, the flames crackled and rose steadily as the three fed the flames with their talk. Nick turned to Aberdeen and asked him, “remember that time I said to you that I had a plan? If it is okay, I would like to share it with you?” “Okay”…began Aberdeen a little hesitantly, for he knew that in a short while, his life would change dramatically again as he was led on this journey. “Happy to,” Connie nodded her head in assent and got up and stretched.“Come inside, I have something to show you.” Nick coaxed them onward to the house with a comedic bow and a flourishing wave of his hand. He led them to the spare room in the tiny cottage that contained Aberdeen’s microscope and he then trotted off to the kitchen to procure something he hoped would give them an idea about what he was alluding to.

“Connie,” Nick called out from the kitchen, could you please switch off the light in there?” Puzzled, Connie did as she was told and as they waited there in the dark and the silence, their curiosity grew. They felt like two children about to enter a wardrobe leading them to Narnia.
Nick returned to the spare room with a glass jar; the contents of which contained a strangely glowing mass of lights, suspended in a liquid of sorts. It glowed eerily in the dark and now he made his way over to Connie and Aberdeen. “This, my friends, is called “Vibrio fischeri”, or, what is more commonly referred to as a bioluminescent bacterium.” “Wow” marveled Connie as she stuck her nose closely to the jar that Nick held, the lights sparkling and dancing in the dark. “That is really something spectacular,” she exclaimed. Aberdeen whistled low in his appreciation and the three stood around the jar, the silence deepening as they stood there in awe of Mother Nature.

With a flick of the light switch, light flooded the room and the three squinted like moles emerging from the underground. Nick led them to the microscope and then he opened up the jar, fished out one of the glowing particles, sandwiching it between two slides before placing it under the microscopes powerful lens. “I want you both to see this,” he gushed animatedly with enthusiasm. “Who wants to go first?” He chimed as the two stood there expectantly. Aberdeen pointed to Connie and grinned. “She’s the bossy one," he joked. She grinned widely back at him and put her hand up. As Connie’s eyes adjusted to the microscopic view of the bacterium, she noticed that the light had gone out in the few bacterium clumped together. “Nick, it looks as if there are no lights in this bacterium?” She queried with an intense look about her. “Could you turn out the lights so that I can confirm this?” She asserted. Nick obediently switched off the light but smiled to himself. “Nope the lights have definitely gone out on these puppies.” She confirmed with a nod of the head as she peered hopefully into the microscope. “Let me have a look.” said Aberdeen, playfully bumping her and then wrapping his arms around her slight figure before peering over her shoulder to get a closer look. “Oh yes…I see what you mean Connie, there are no lights on these bacterium” concurred Aberdeen with firm conviction.

“Allow me to quote Bonnie Bassler from her Tedtalk, if I may my dear ones.” He unfolded a piece of paper he was holding and cleared his throat with a loud ‘ahem.’

“What was actually interesting to us was not that the bacteria made light, but when the bacteria made light. What we noticed is when the bacteria were alone, so when they were in dilute suspension, they made no light. But when they grew to a certain cell number all the bacteria turned on light simultaneously.”

“The most interesting part about her talk was about bacteria in general. Bacteria were only successful when the cells participated in unison. Alone, bacteria had no effect on their host but if they waited; they started to grow. Once they counted themselves and once they recognised that they were just the right number, they launched their attack together and only then were they successful at overcoming their host.” And then Nick murmured ever so softly that he was almost inaudible, “We are that bacterium and all we need to do is unite.”

Nine of us have been working on a project for some time now. Bill, Carolyne, Evelyne, Jim, Christine, Mark, Maria, Eryne and myself have been working on a template for healing centre’s in this world that will be a natural extension of the community centre’s that Kyra Johnson and Arthur Curtis have been working upon. We are pulling this idea down from the dreamland worlds we travel to and into this reality. These will be healing centre’s that accommodate all fields of natural alternative medicines, the likes of what has never been seen before. We are also sending out a call to all other medical practitioners who are sympathetic to playing a more holistic role in helping people to self-heal.

He started to reel off a very long list of all the fields (For which dear reader, I will not bore you with, such is the number of them.) By bringing all fields together in one place,” He paused here, “We can assist people so that they go in at one end and then come out the other end firing on all cylinders, in effect, the light will be switched on. If they are integrated on all levels of their being; clarity, inspiration and collaboration will unfold, and then we will have the strength and the numbers, just like the bacterium, to overpower our host."

“If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito.”

Aberdeen and Connie looked at each other. They could almost feel the chain reaction of empowerment exploding into reality as they envisioned the healing centre's growing and taking on a life of their own. "We are with you Nick," they chorused in unison.

84 HEALING CENTRE’S

“What is it about dreams? How is it that whenever one feels something in a dreaming state, it is felt to the core of one's very being? It is as if any falsity is completely stripped away. The soul has no limits and no boundaries and because it is the soul that dreams, dreams also have no limits or boundaries. If one really knew what the soul was capable of, it would empower that individual or the masses way beyond the beyond.” Kyra Johnston tossed and turned in her dream state as she discussed these feelings/ideas with her friend Arthur Curtis, the former banker and now Community Centre organiser.

Her dog Cody lay beside her and whimpered. He was dreaming too of freedom for all the animals that were caged up in strange looking boxes. He dreamed of how he was opening the door to their cages with the aid of his friend Kyra and how the animals, great and small alike, sniffed the air, romped the grounds and sniffed each other in exaltation, free at last. He was one of those funny little short-legged mutts with a wiry coat, a short temper, a big heart and a fiercely loyal temperament.

He loved Kyra with a fierceness that even puzzled Kyra. He wouldn't let anyone else touch a hair on her head unless she gave her express permission. Hugs were impossible unless Kyra gave Cody the signal. He would fight anyone to the death rather than have her be hurt. He didn't care who they were. Cars, bicycles, people. He would fight them all. Anyone that looked sideways at Kyra in Cody's presence got a warning growl. Unless Kyra said the words "safe", he would throw himself on the object of threat and bite. Kyra had to teach him that word as a tiny puppy because even then, he was so fiercely protective of her, and now he was yelping and yapping in his sleep because he was playfully chasing rabbits. He loved rabbits! Just loved the way they smelled. They smelled just like grass to him and Cody just loved to sniff grass. You never know what might be in there, an insect, a flower, a dropping from another dog.

The crowd was growing as she stepped onto the dream stage. Nick was standing in the background waiting to move next to her and speak his part. Cody was chasing the rabbits as he lay in his soft bed. Arthur was also standing close as she moved closer to the crowd and began to speak. “I’m so proud of you.” Spoke Kyra Johnston fondly to a gathering dream crowd. She was quite a motherly figure and very tender in her approach. “You have been persevering for so long on this dream of ours to make the world a better place and I know that some of you are exhausted with all your untiring efforts. I hope to inspire you to continue all the good work you are doing for if we are to truly live free lives on the land, we must continue to be a united front. I know that you can do it. You hold the keys.” The crowd cheered and Kyra looked shyly over to Nick, who was standing by her side.

“We have all had enough of destroying what is essential for our growth and evolution. Mother Earth is our consciousness in another form and we, in the dream world, have deliberately withdrawn our support of the draining of Mother Earth’s resources. I know that you have all been working so diligently in both worlds to find us the materials that we need to build our community centres in this country with resources that honor Mother Earth. It is amazing what we have found sitting around in peoples sheds, lying around in empty factories, building sites and at rubbish dumps!”

“The Agro-forestry we have been developing in conjunction with the community centres has played an enormous role in redefining the way that people in each community live, for they now have the opportunity to grow an unlimited abundance of food for themselves and each other. Why, we have even been able to grow fibre that can make cloth and grow flowers for a rainbow of colored dyes. As you well know my dear friends, most people are good at heart and we need to nurture and inspire these collaborations of the heart so please continue to spread the word far and wide.”

"Every neighborhood that has a community centre now has access to free seeds and the access to help and advice on growing an abundance of food. We have requests from all around the country and all around the world on how to grow greenhouses that will feed a million people at a time. Imagine that! Precious souls like you who are dedicated to showing others a lifestyle that will completely support them in living a life where they can do what they love to do is of the utmost importance and I honor you for all your work. We all know deep in our hearts that we just can't do it without each other and this has made all the difference in the world to know that there is the support and that it has been unconditional.” It was then that Nick spoke.

“To keep you up to speed, if you are not already aware, Arthur Curtis, a former banker and now an advocate for the people, has recently shared with us that due to his efforts, local bankers are walking off the job everywhere. Withdrawing our support and dismantling the need for the whole monetary system is where we are. This is why, through your consensus, we have been working on the community centres, so that we can truly support ourselves and each other without the need for money. I know that you are already aware of many of these things my dear friends however we are now faced with a situation where Arthur’s efforts have not gone unnoticed by those who so desperately fight to retain the status quo.”

“And so dear ones, we have had to use our imaginations to stay not just one step ahead but many steps. I have been working with 8 others to help create a healing centre that is integrated into the community centre that will enable people do the healing work they so desperately need so that they have the energy and the resources to reach their highest potential and truly empower not only just ourselves but each other. Once we have built rock-solid foundations for true self-empowerment by switching on the 72 empowerment reflexes that lay dormant within all, we will then be an unstoppable force.”

“Now that the community centres are springing up like weeds through the cracks in a concrete pavement, we now have the opportunity to also support those in the alternative medicine fields who wish to join us. We are building infrastructure to support those who are not already within a community setting so that they can come and experience healing work and we are also building infrastructure that will support visiting and resident alternative healers. Who is with me on this," He cried and the roar from the crowd said it all.

“All for one and one for all.”

85 DOUSING THE FLAMES 6

Lionhawk, Arie, Mark and Jim all exited the computer room at the far end and entered the large cavern. They walked for about 10 minutes all the while being amazed at the size of the cavern. There were doors on both sides of the cavern but they were not interested in exploring them at the moment because something kept telling them that the live human beings were further into the cavern. The cavern turned to the left as they kept walking and they came to a very large wall structure built across the width of the cavern. It had very large doors that could be opened to allow large vehicles or other things through. There were also many small double man doors that looked like entrance/exits to a theater or large coliseum. Lionhawk approached one set of doors and peered through some small windows. He saw the cages or one large area of cells and a large group of humans inside milling and eating and doing what ever it is that they could while being locked up. Lionhawk continued to search and did not see any guards, he knew they were somewhere but would have to chance entering the Hugh chamber before discovering their where a bouts. He turned and told Jim and Mark to remain here until he and Arie flushed the guard creatures out.

They all had cloaked themselves before they left the computer room. So Lionhawk and Arie Pushed one of the doors slowly open enough to get through. Arie squeezed through first and padded off to the right. Lionhawk turned sideways and slipped through heading off to the left. Mark held the door and let it close easy. As the door came to a stop Mark saw a bright light through the window and something smashed into the door pushing it into him as he backed away. He smelled the distinct odor of sulfur and ozone. He pushed Jim back and both men moved away from the doors and brought the TMG’s to the ready. Mark could still see through the window but could not tell if anything or someone was moving towards the door. Lionhawk had seen the spear like fire brand flashing through the air and watched it hit the door. Sparks flew out in a great splash as the thing made contact. He looked at where the fire had come from but could not tell immediately.

Oveneye had been walking the perimeter of the human cage when he saw the door move to a small opening in the giant wall of doors. His thought immediately was to launch a fire spear in that direction to let his batch brothers know that something was not right. Scorch and he had been joined by Hotsctick and Lightner earlier. Hotsctick had told them that something was happening that did not seem normal so they all were on guard for any strange signs. Scorch was coming up on his rear and Hotsctick and Lightner were both at the far end of the large habitat for the humans. He waited for Scorch to catch up to him and told him what he had seen. He then screeched at Hotsctick and Lightner telling them that something may have tried to enter the area. Hotsctick and Lightner both decided to double back and come up the left side of the habitat.

Lionhawk could see the bright blue white shine from Aries’ eyes and he had taken his sword out before coming through the doors and it was shinning a bright blue white. He could feel his own eyes pushing the blue white light out and prepared for battle He had felt the pain of Shadowself and knew she had been injured. He was going to go to her when a voice in his mind told him that she would be alright. As he watched Arie he witnessed something he had not seen before. The cat began to glow across his entire body and became a solid blue white body. He watched the cat become visible and streak through the air at a spot behind the edge of the cage. He began to move in that direction while he became visible also. As he moved a streak of fire resembling a spear whizzed pass him and hit the far wall. He turned just in time to deflect a fire sword from another Burnsacka. The beings rushing him had dropped the human bodies and became their true beings of tubes of fire. The one that had tried to strike him first was ferociously swinging the fire sword as he kept knocking it away. He could feel the heat every time the sword came close and then the second being waded in to distract him He ducked from the first one and came up with a cross cut into the second one. His blade made a complete contact across the mid section of the being as he danced away from both of them. He spun around to finish the one he made contact with and the first one caught him in the side with a glancing blow. The pain was horrific but he managed to swing his sword into the neck of the being and both of the columns of fire spewed liquid flame as they screeched and writhed and then the flames extinguished and disappeared. Where the liquid fire had spilled out onto the floor there were great scorch marks. He stumble from the pain in his side and went to his knees. As he hit the pavement he saw Arie bite the first being and heard it make a horrible screech. He saw the second one slash at Arie and catch him on the right hind leg. Arie spit blue fire at the being as he screamed with pain. The being was moving in for the kill when Arie leaped up and bit it on the neck area. The being dropped its sword of fire and screeched so loud that Lionhawk thought his ear drums would burst.

Billy Wainright was the first to see the tall man with the blue white shinning sword. Others in the cage saw the fire beings, as they dropped the human bodies; throw the fire spears at the tall man. Billy moved to the bars and watched in amazement as the tall warrior fought off the columns of fire. He saw one of the columns slash and wound the tall warrior but then the warrior dispatched both columns. The air had smoke floating thick in it and the smell was sickening of sulfur and ozone. As he watched from the cage bars he saw the warrior stand and almost fall over but kept himself upright. He stood a bit shakily and then Billy saw the lion limping towards the warrior. He started to scream for the warrior to watch out but the lion walked up and lay down next to the man. The Man knelt down and touched the lion on the head. Each of them had burn marks on their bodies. As he watched this transpire two more men became visible and walked to the warrior and Lion. He did not know what to think when he heard a vehicle. He thought it would be the men in the black clothes that had taken him and brought him here, so he was preparing to see the monsters come in and kill these people that appeared to be saving all of them. The vehicle crashed through the big doors and swerved sideways to a halt. He saw two women jump out and one more lion. The Lion padded up to the one that was lying on the floor and began to lick and bump heads. The one on the floor raised its head and did the same with the one standing over it.

One of the women strode up to the warrior and knelt beside him. She had long dark hair and a headband of some sort that glowed with symbols. The other woman walked to one of the other men and held him. What he saw next made him believe in magic and miracles. All of the people including the lions formed a circle around the injured ones and held each others hands and paws. Billy saw a light emanating from their hearts and then all their hands lit up and the light spun in a solid circle and became a solid tube and the solid tube of light shot straight up through the ceiling of the cavern. The floor was empty for a few moments and then the tube of light came back and began to slow and dissipate. The next thing he saw was all the people standing in a circle with both lions standing also.

Gregory Stilson had moved from a place in the center of the habitat to the action on the outside of the bars and began to watch as the human bodies were dropped and the fire beings moved to combat the warrior man with the blue white shinning sword. The young kid that was hanging on the bars was captivated. Gregory spoke to the boy and asked what he thought might be happening. The boy told him that he thought they might be rescued by the warrior and then mentioned another on the far side of the room. Gregory then made his way to the far side and watched as the lion shaped being attacked the fire columns. Two days before he had been told by two women that were a few years younger than him that the black suits would be sorting out the older humans and moving them to another area. He knew what that meant. He had seen others that were just a little older than him disappear from the habitat area never to be seen again. Some said that they had been sent back home while others said that they had been taken to a deeper place and disposed of. When he saw the fight transpiring his hopes rose to a level of actually fighting these humans that had captured him not more than a few years earlier. He had figured that they were not human by their actions and manners. They emanated too much heat and sometimes he would witness the fire in the eye sockets instead of eyes. He had even seen one spit fire from its mouth one day. He was prepared to fight to the death when the things came for him so when the fight of the creatures started and he watched the entire battle he knew that someone had come for them to help. When the people had turned into the ring and then the tube of light and disappeared he almost lost all hope but then they showed back up and all of them appeared healed of any damage. His hope sprang forth and he ran to the bars and hollered at them. “Hey over here we need your help” Other people began to mill around the closest area to the group outside and started to speak also. One of the humans broke free from the others and headed towards them. All the people became quiet as he approached.

Mark had heard someone speak and turned to see a group of people standing close to the bars in anticipation. He noticed that most of them were young children but some were young adults and he did not see any of them that were older than perhaps in their 20’s. He spoke to the team and moved towards the people in the cage. As he approached the cage the people started to speak all at once so he held up his hands and asked them to let him speak. A few minutes later they all settled down and two of the oldest one man and one woman stood at the bars and waited for him to speak. He began to tell them that they would all be set free and sent back to their homes where they had been taken from. Once again the cacophony of noise rose but the two older people turned and told them to settle down. Gregory and Shauna looked at Mark and asked how they would be returned. Mark turned and waited for the team to approach. The two lions padded off towards the large doors and disappeared through the broken area where the vehicle had crashed through. The rest of the team came up and they all took the TMG’s and held them at there sides until they could start sending these folks back home. Billy moved to the side and sat down. He did not want to return. Mark asked every one to step back away from the bars and held his TMG up and pointed it at the bars. Everyone backed away in a hurry thinking he was going to shoot them or something. He twisted the space dial and flashed the blue beam at the bars and they began to dissolve away.

The people watched in amazement as the bars disappeared all around them. The complete enclosed area of their prison was gone. At the white house in Denver someone looked out a window and asked in a surprise voice why the white house had been enclosed in a barred fence. It looks like we are in a prison. Vinnie looked out and let out a screaming foul language. He ran from his office in a rage and headed down to the ground level. Running out the front doors and down the steps he came up against the bars and could not see any gates or doors to get out. His gaze ran up the bars and he noticed that the entire white house was enclosed with the bars. He began to scream louder and curse with all kinds of foul words.

Back in the cavern the people were milling around wondering about going home. Mark approached the two older people and asked them to organize groups of folks and they would begin to send them home. He asked the man to gather them together where they had been taken from. Gregory and Shauna both started getting the people into specific groups. They had asked for specific areas and the people just instinctively understood and formed groups of their home areas. Everybody had ended into their perspective group and the team began seeing in their minds, vivid places. Maria had chosen one group and saw were they had come from and sprayed them with the blue light and they disappeared. Shadowself had done the same as well as all three men. The groups kept being sent home until all that was left was Billy who had continued to sit a distance away and Gregory and Shauna. The team looked at Gregory and Shauna and asked them where they might be sent to. Gregory had been visiting the Blue Ridge Mountains and just happened to be in a small town hitchhiking his way back to Santa Fe New Mexico when he had been captured. His home was anywhere that he wanted to stay at the time. He had been born in Albuquerque New Mexico and when he became 16 he left to see the world. Both of his parents had been killed in a car accident when he was 12 and he stayed with an Aunt. She had been arrested for dealing with the underground and he lived alone for the last year before he left. Shauna was born in Nashville and lived there most of her young years until she turned 18 then left her family and moved to Huntington where she lived and worked as a school teacher for small children until she turned 23. She then hitchhiked her way towards Charleston and was captured just outside of Hurricane. Neither one of them wanted to go back to the place where they had been captured, nor did they want to go to a place they had already been. They both had become close friends while in the habitat and had talked long hours about getting out and going to other places. There fondness grew tight the closer they came to being taken away because of age. The team members talked with one another about where to send these two when someone asked about the little boy.

Billy had placed himself a distance away from the group of people and kept looking at the tall warrior and the woman that stood next to him. He wished he could grow up and become a warrior like this man. His mother had died one year after his birth and he could feel the excruciating pain of the entire experience. His father had a real hard time trying to except his mother’s death but he managed to raise Billy until he was 7 years old. Scott Depot was such a small town and he longed to see bigger cities from watching the Videos and reading books. He knew his father was doing the best he could to bring him up. His father worked the logging camps to keep the roof over their heads and he was also involved in the underground. Billy had met a lot of folks that were really good folks but he still longed to see those cities. 3 years hence is when the police raided their meager little house and killed his Dad. His Dad had taken him out the back door and hid him in the root cellar. He had lain under the potato barrels where they had kept all the secret stuff and listened to the screaming and yelling and all the gun shots. He stayed there for 3 days after the noise had quit and finally came out. When he exited the root cellar all he saw was a burnt out building that was his home. The old gas powered pickup had been burnt out and sat in a heap of smoke. Bullet holes were riddled all over it and the tires were melted. He spent two days digging through the ruins and found a few items that he put in a backpack that he retrieved from the cellar. An old pocket knife and some fishing line with some hooks and sinkers and some extra socks were found in the ruins of the house. He went into the root cellar and found a can opener and some eating utensils and then stuffed the pack with apples and other kinds of fruit and took some of the canned goods and walked to the creek behind their house and followed it to the old dirt road that lead to the main paved road that led to the main state route He meant to go to Charleston and maybe find some work. It was while he was walking down Teays Valley Road that he was captured by the men in the black clothes. He had just turned 7 and he had been here for 3 years now He was beginning to weep thinking about all of this when something bumped him in the back and almost knocked him over. He turned and the lions face was so close he was startled beyond belief.

Arie and Chephirah had scouted the cavern and even went up the road way that let vehicles come down here. They found nothing in there travels and went back to the cavern. When they had entered Arie saw the boy sitting off to himself and knew that the child was all alone in this world. He spoke with Chephirah and she followed him to within 10 feet of the child and lay down to wait. Arie had come up behind the boy and sat on his haunches while the boys thoughts of what had happened to him came through loud and clear. When the boy began to weep, Arie moved to him and bumped him. When the boy turned Arie could see his fear and spoke into his mind “Do not be afraid I am a friend and will help you find a way” Billy sat back and then spun around and looked into Aries’ eyes. “You are the Blue white spirit that fought the fire being and was hurt” “Yes I am that spirit and you are the spirit of William are you not?” When Billy heard that his heart and mind was opened and he remembered his past. He moved and hugged the lion and stood. He turned and walked towards the crowd of people with the lion at his side. Chephirah padded up behind them and followed and then moved off to bump and rub against Shadowself.

As the boy and the lion walked towards them everyone noticed the blue aura around the boys head. Lionhawk knew the boy/man from his past and knelt down as the boy approached. Billy watched the warrior kneel and then saw the woman kneel next to him. The cat that was next to the woman warrior sat on its haunches next to her while the cat that had followed him over went around and did the same to the man warrior. Billy stood in front of both warriors with astonishment on his face. He remembered these two people from somewhere and wondered. Lionhawk pulled a small blade from his side and presented it to the boy. The blade actually shined with the blue tint. Lionhawk spoke and said “William this is yours and I have waited a very long time to give it back. The boy reached out and with shaking hesitation took the blade. The hilt was wrapped with blue and gold leather and the blade was of fine steel about 16” long. It was double edged and the edges sparkled with sharpness. The woman spoke the same and pulled a wrist band from a pouch on her side and placed it around his arm. He would have to grow into that obviously, but with the sword or small blade and the wrist band, memories flooded into him and he sat down as his life swirled about him. Everyone watched a light engulf the boy and turn his skin into a bluish tint. This went on for a short period and then he was himself once more.

Jake dreamed of a boy named William. All the unconditional love the female and male warrior had for the child evoked a light that shot forth from within the child. Billy felt the true essence of the sword cut deeply into his heart. The blade was engulfed in the light and in its reflection; Jake saw the destiny of the child. He awoke, with a strange foreboding for he realized that who he saw in his dreams were his old dear friends Lionhawk and Shadowself. But who was this child William? He had never met him before. He tried to get back to sleep to contact Nick but his thoughts kept him awake. He pondered this child's destiny. What would be in store for all?

Maria looked at Gregory, Shauna and Billy and asked where they might want to go, they all did not know at first but something lit their eyes and Billy was the first to speak. Can I go to the Garden, I would really like to meet, before he could finish, both Gregory and Shauna spoke and completed the names, Evelyne and Eryne. The team all smiled deeply and Maria said yes. When you arrive ask for Christine and the girls will meet you. She opened the portal to the Garden and asked them to “step into our little paradise.” All three stepped into the garden and the portal closed. Lionhawk had stood up and helped Shadowself up as well and said “well since you came down here to help we might as well all go up and take care of the levels above.” As they all walked to the vehicle and climbed in Lionhawk had seen the front where the thing had rammed the doors and wondered if it would still run. When they climbed in Mark took his TMG and sprayed the area with light. Everything up to the vehicle became rock. Jim looked at him and asked what he had just done. Mark told him that he had sent everything from the rock wall back into the past so it did not exist anymore in this time frame. “So shall we go up and take care of the rest of this mess?” Shadowself started the vehicle and it did start to Lionhawk’s surprise. She spun it around and headed out of the smashed doors and over to the cave entrance of the road up to the third level.

Shadowself brought the vehicle to a stop in the garage on the third level. They all climbed out and moved towards the double doors to the corridor. Crossing the corridor and entering the corridor to the elevator they noticed that the car was coming down from the second level, everyone cloaked themselves including the lions and waited for the car door to open.

Scratchstick and wonderburn had been told to check on the area that has this world’s species transportation devices. The ones that had been assigned to operate these devices were somewhat untrustworthy and had to be looked after and kept on a leash until they could prove their worth on this important mission. The dimensional gates had been placed on many different worlds in other dimensions and the Burnsacka had conquered those places and spread their species to at least 13 different dimensions. The hot balls or stars were the places that they had to live and most places that they conquered were like this world where they had to assimilate the species until they could turn the worlds into mini stars. Burnsacka was a relatively new race of beings. They had only been around for a few million time clicks. There were far older species and the Burnsacka had yet to challenge any of them for fear of being destroyed in their quest to conquer. He and wonderburn were relatively new. They both had been created only a few thousand time clicks ago and they were not old enough to receive a true fire name. They both were part of a ruling class and as such were given this mission to gain the recognition to get true ignition on the home star. The large human species bag that he had been given made him sick but it did have more heat to its bloated bag than most. He did not like how he had to move with this bag. The two stumps of mobility below were so large that they could hardly handle the movement of the bag above which was even larger. Wonderburn had been given a bag that at least could move easier. The fire pits below were their only saving grace when they did not have to be subversive with the species. The can in the tube came to a halt and the closure opened for them to exit. They both walked into the path that led to the transportation devices.

Shadowself was standing with Chephirah by her side when the elevator door opened and she saw the rather large fat man and an average sized man step out. Both lions and she and Lionhawk’s eyes blazed with the blue white light. She had pulled her sword in preparation and it blazed also. She and Chephirah were the first to uncloak and step away from the wall. Lionhawk and Arie both waited and were ready to assist. The fat human stopped suddenly and looked at the bluish tinted sword and the eyes of the beings. He almost turned to get away when Wonderburn dropped the human bag and burned into his tube. Scratchstick dropped the large bag also and raised his arm with the fire sword and charged at the bluish lights. The tall human swung its own sword and the fire sword glanced off it.

Shadowself saw the fat human fall from the tube of fire and then the thing charged at her. She saw the fire sword blazing through the air at her and brought her own sword up and bounced it away. As she was doing this she had been moving toward the fire being and passing by the thing as their swords connected. She swung her arm to the lower position and struck backward with a forward/backstab as she passed by. Her sword entered the tube of fire just above a mid section and poked through the entire tube. She pulled it back as she continued to move away from the being.

Chephirah became a streak of blue white light as she flew through the air and landed on the tube that was moving towards her. They both fell back and hit the corridor wall just above the floor. The being was trying to throw a spear but when Chephirah hit it the spear fell to the floor and lay in a burning heap. The being then tried to wield a sword but Chephirah had bit into the things arm and it dropped the sword also. Wonderburn had never felt such pain and both of his weapons lay in a pile of fire on the floor. His second arm made a sword and he tried to bring it down on the being that had an excruciating hold on his other arm. As he was bringing the fire brand down to strike, the being bit down on his neck area and the fire brand fell from his grasp. He screeched and squirmed as the liquid fire gushed from his neck area. His essence of being shrank in on itself and he disappeared. Chephirah jumped back and turned in a flash to jump on the being that Shadowself was fighting with. The being was standing very still as it burned. Shadowself had moved past it and was turning like lightning. She came up from a crouch and stood ready to parry and thrust. She stopped and watched the tube of fire. In slow motion, the place where her sword had penetrated began to spew liquid fire from the front and the back. The horror of the next scene was the dying throws of the fire being. The sounds were ear piercing as it screamed and screeched. They all saw the dark slits of the eyes for a second before they became shooting flames. The mouth area shot flames out of liquid fire and the thing caved in on itself and disappeared. The human bodies that had been discarded crumbled into dust and then blew away.
