Actually the physics do work out, but the launch cost for the components was steep.
Space-based solar power (SBSP) is the concept of collecting solar power in outer space and distributing it to Earth. Potential advantages of collecting solar energy in space include a higher collection rate and a longer collection period due to the lack of a diffusing atmosphere, and the possibility of placing a solar collector in an orbiting location where there is no night. A considerable fraction of incoming solar energy (55–60%) is lost on its way through the Earth's atmosphere by the effects of reflection and absorption. Space-based solar power systems convert sunlight to microwaves outside the atmosphere, avoiding these losses, and the downtime due to the Earth's rotation, but at great cost due to the expense of launching material into orbit. SBSP is considered a form of sustainable or green energy, renewable energy, and is occasionally considered among climate engineering proposals. It is attractive to those seeking large-scale solutions to anthropogenic climate change or fossil fuel depletion (such as peak oil).
According to Wikipedia the opposite is true.
SBSP designs generally include the use of some manner of wireless power transmission and its concomitant conversion inefficiencies, as well as land use concerns for the necessary antenna stations to receive the energy at Earth's surface.

SBSP is being actively pursued by Japan, China, and Russia.

The Most Dreadful Weapon
But like any other technical achievement the space mirror could also be employed for military purposes and, furthermore, it would be a most horrible weapon, far surpassing all previous weapons. It is well known that fairly significant temperatures can be generated by concentrating the sun's rays using a concave mirror (in a manner similar to using a so-called "burning glass"). Even when a mirror has only the size of the human hand, it is possible to ignite a handheld piece of paper or even wood shavings very simply in its focus (Figure 95).

Figure 95. Igniting a piece of wood using a concave mirror.

Key: 1. Sun's rays.
Imagine that the diameter of a mirror of this type is not just 10 cm, but rather several hundreds or even thousands of meters, as would be the case for a space mirror. Then, even steel would have to melt and refractory materials would hardly be able to withstand the heat over longer periods of time, if they were exposed to solar radiation of such an enormous concentration.

Now, if we visualize that the observer in the space station using his powerful telescope can see the entire combat area spread out before him like a giant plan showing even the smallest details, including the staging areas and the enemy's hinterland with all his access routes by land and sea, then we can envision what a tremendous weapon a space mirror of this type, controlled by the observer in orbit, would be!

It would be easy to detonate the enemy's munitions dumps, to ignite his war material storage area, to melt cannons, tank turrets, iron bridges, the tracks of important train stations, and similar metal objects. Moving trains, important war factories, entire industrial areas and large cities could be set ablaze. Marching troops or ones in camp would simply be charred when the beams of this concentrated solar light were passed over them. And nothing would be able to protect the enemy's ships from being destroyed or burned out, like bugs are exterminated in their hiding place with a torch, regardless of how powerful the ships may be, even if they sought refuge in the strongest sea fortifications.

They would really be death rays! And yet they are no different from this lifegiving radiation that we welcome everyday from the sun; only a little "too much of a good thing." However, all of these horrible things may never happen, because a power would hardly dare to start a war with a country that controls weapons of this dreadful nature.

Omg. The only reason for me not to see that was either I have been distracted by my tooth ache or, not taking the time to completely read the entire article and each word or , not quieting myself, my beliefs, or my thoughts, to see the entire article, or all of the above!

I post this, to help myself see things from a different point of view and as a part of practicing awareness.

Thank you for your time

Tom no worries, i skim / speedread a Lot too,
I appreciate your comments because it helps explain to others.

This thread, i am updating only because authorities are saying there are many unknowns and in a hypothetical situation especially when Russia is pissed off, we gotta reach for crazier conclusions lol.

Funny thing, I don't speed read that often.

Yeah no worries, but It keeps me aware and on top of my habits. I like to keep a focus on self discipline. Everything is a lesson.

I wanted to thank you again regarding the dream journal reminder, to keep it linear and orderly so that the dream sequence is distinct from the damn aftermath, or reality echo lol.

The entry about the 2 kids with weapons was very confusing. Because it was hard to see which part (very brief) was the warning dream and which was the story of the following evening.

I may regret this but anytime you see my top spinning too fast, you have my permission to ask anything you wish, particularly in the interest of clarity.

They are actually blaming the homeless for this huge fire, uhhhhh... if they are really capable of such activity, ummm, shouldn't vehicles be stored in a safer and less infrastructurally fatal location?

USA just lost the right to make fun of Japan re Fukushima. .. even if it Was homeless who started this impossibly hot blaze, those things shouldn't have been under there where they could compromise the Interstate...

Seems like common sense.

Don't forget, i think Russia was pissed off enough at Japan before 3/11/11 to hit them. It is still in my opinion not off the table that we provoked Russia too much in our media and they have hit us with a new weapon.

The vagrants living under the bridge..? Uhm. Maybe but why would they bother? Most homeless people are lazy or set in their routines....

I-85 collapse: Three arrests after major fire under Atlanta highway
By Jason Hanna, Faith Karimi and Steve Almasy, CNN

Updated 10:37 PM ET, Fri March 31, 2017

Atlanta (CNN)Three people were arrested Friday in connection with a huge fire that caused part of an elevated interstate running through Atlanta to collapse, the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department said.

Fire department spokesman Cortez Stafford said two men and one woman were arrested.
The three are thought to be homeless, Georgia Deputy Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Jay Florence said.

Well who's to say we aren't in a Hellstrom's Hive deadlock? If Russia has developed a weapon we have no reply to, our agencies would be 'forced' to cover it up and pretend the huge magnifying glass isn't trained on D.C..

I believe it's possible that vandals started a fire, but that's a sort of apocalyptic view too. I mean that's almost like Blade Runner... the Dwarven Vandals did it, give me a damn break lol.

The implications of this whole thing are very negatory, captain.

Suspect discussed smoking cocaine before I-85 collapse, affidavit shows

Fire causes Atlanta interstate to collapse 00:48
Story highlights

Basil Eleby is charged with arson and criminal damage
Authorities say he discussed smoking cocaine with two others

Atlanta (CNN)The man accused of arson in a massive fire that collapsed part of Interstate 85 in Atlanta discussed smoking cocaine with two others before the blaze started, an arrest affidavit shows.

Basil Eleby is charged with first-degree arson and criminal damage to property, authorities said.

Eleby and his two companions, Sophia Bruner and Barry Thomas, are believed to be homeless. They were arrested in connection with Thursday evening's fire, said Jay Florence, the state safety fire commissioner.

Col Frye might ask, is is that true? ;)

P.s. I've seen requiem for a dream but still have to ask.
What does cocaine have to do with setting pvc on fire.

With or without crazy, that's pretty hard to do.

Just had an idea.
In a hypothetical situation where the highway actually started burning first, it would explain how the PVC ignited, if any molten material dripped or fell onto the motorpool downstairs.

Imho Sherlock Holmes would be gravely disappointed with the official Comey storm.

I am so very sad for the Russian civilians who were caught in the subway blast (today/last night?). It looked really horrible, tunnel full of choking smoke etc, door blown open, suggesting a lot of suffering.

Anytime civilians are threatened is pretty sad..

But I am grateful that Elon Musk's rocket launch was all good. In spite of the bullshit that was a huge positive.

It would be a relief of the Russians agreed to at least, a truce in space. Lol
