In a letter, Mr Reid accused Mr Comey of practising double standards with the intention of helping one political party over another.

He said Mr Comey may have violated the Hatch Act, which bars officials from using their position to influence an election.

"Through your partisan actions, you may have broken the law," he said.

Mr Reid also accused Mr Comey of withholding "explosive information about close ties between [Republican candidate] Donald Trump, his top advisers, and the Russian government".

"The public has a right to know about this information. I wrote to you months ago calling for this information to be released to the public," Mr Reid said.

I had a hope that Barack Obama would be a good President, but it turned out that he was basically the same as George W. Bush. I still think Obama may have done a good job, mainly behind the public curtain. Now it's possible that Trump becomes the next U.S. President. And Trump seems to be pro conspiracy theories. That's great I think, unless he's just a gatekeeper.

Trump seems so original that he's almost like a cartoon character. Like Donald Duck except he's witty at times and comes up with a lot of his own material.

It's hard to hate someone who is so good at being widely unlikeable. After a while though, it is actually a sign of consistency. Kind of like in Full Metal Jacket when Gunnery sgt Hartman says You're all equally worthless. When you get past the abuse i guess to see the humor. If the bark is all you're getting, it's not such a bad dog. Lol.

Obama was great at winning trust and killing kids. Before he ran for president i didnt actually know there was such a thing as third term abortions or air strikes on homes containing children. Is he to blame for every dead baby? No of course not and it takes one to know one, but i bet that man has okd more deaths via drone strikes than all the 9/11 victims combined.

"In the want of the people is the destruction of the prince," was the passage that came to my mind years ago when Obama was first elected. Because of his stance on that first issue! How eerie that Prince (the African American artist!) Died in Obama's last year in office.

It strikes me as ironic that the first president to be elected by the internet sensationalism, mr Obama, is also undone by the same vivacious enthusiasm for search and research.
