High Mercury Levels Found in Stranded Whales!

I must have clicked old click bait from last year about the baby orca stuck on rocks, was trying to find the other articles talking about the neurotoxic protein breakdown they experience after being stranded, because in many ways it may provide a model for understanding disorientation and brain damage in autism... eek.

Even tho I wasn't a huge mercury reader, it was mentioned when i researched spindle neurons, which means this substance can disrupt the actual cellular structure needed for higher thought.

I'd imagine these poor whales, like Mefloquine victims, exist in sort of a nightmare once they lose enough of the higher brain and stem structures.

Kudos to anyone able to find a link or the right term for when muscular damage in beached whales causes a toxin build up in the whale's blood even if it survives.

I am thinking, if scientists can solve this problem and reverse it by suspending the process, you could actually combine the serum with stem cell therapy.

Hopefully one day they will have this handy serum-nanobot-stem cell soup that can patch up the higher animals...

Tl;dr
When scientists figure out how to cure a beached whale it will carry over into asd research
