When he shall die,
Take him and cut him out in little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night
And pay no worship to the garish sun.

Thank you for that post. I am guessing Tom has moved on to new vistas?

This week one of my dear friends, also named Maggie left. She was 18 and yet, I cannot get used to the leavings. I am just so tired of people leaving. I don't like it and it is just unbelievable that we have to keep parting company with the ones we love. I don't care if life is short and there may be some here after. It is NOW when I look around and cannot see people. 24 hours in a day can seem very long. I am not feeling gratitude on this issue. That may make it clear I am immature and I do not care.

She was already 8 when her previous person had to move and when someone at work told me she was being taken that day to a shelter, I said Yes to her being with me...then I found her name was Maggie. She was a mature lady when we met. And she was a LADY, fastidious and dainty and presented head high like it was her world we all came to visit. She had noblesse oblige with all other beings...not ever rude or unpleasant with dogs, other cats. Once in awhile she would have an urge for nurturing and grooming others but it was a mood and she would meow in a special way like calling to lost kittens that accompanied her ministration.

I don't have pictures but she was a manx stub tail girl with a tuxedo and two dabs of white on her chin. Her favorite part of life was having little cans everyday and being able to go in and out the window at will.

Tom reminds me of two little darlin's we had. Our first was a runt of the litter and he was so spunky. I called him Buzz and his full name became Buzz B. Stote. My kids loved him and he loved us. Not long after he came to live with us we had a little beautiful full white girl come and attach herself to Buzz. It was so loving to see the two. Buzz was all black with two front paws that had white spots just across three toes on each paw. The little white girl we named Emuleta Wheatha. So Buzz B Stote and Emuleta Wheatha did everything together. The were salt and pepper for about 6 months and then Emuleta left for other places. Buzz lived to be 21 years before he decided it was time to move on. We still see his spirit in certain places.

Bee was our second one and she showed up not long after Buzz moved on. She was a very free spirit and adopted us for her loving. The lady was all black except for a small white patch that looked like a heart on her chest area. It took her awhile to make herself the queen of our digs but when she did, it all became her's and she would not let other stray animals on the property. Such a sweet spirit she was. When she wanted loving she would get on my lap and give me kisses and rub her head against my face. She loved to sleep on the big chair with me and always wanted to be outside. I miss them both so much and still see their spirits in certain places around the house. Like you Maggie, we cannot go through the going away business. It is so hard for those of us that remain while the lovies ride off into that new place.

Christine, you have so many of these little lovies and thank you so much for sharing them. If I knew how to post pictures I would but at last I am not sure If I can or am allowed at this point to post attachments as they may be called.
Thank you both for sharing your sweet memories of these lovely beings.
Steven

Thanks for the responses, Tom is a cat I never met and yet is dearly loved. He is old and it is a natural passing, I simply wanted to express the beauty of him and what he shared with my friend here in this realm.

Does Tom have a life story presently appropriate for the telling, here in this sacred time of his old cat Life coming full circle?
