Hello forum.. I've been away for a while, but, I've never forgotten you ♥
I wrote this a few years ago, after studying my face and body in a full length mirror and finally got honest with myself! For all you younger forum members, you will understand this when you get older

Seasons of Life by E.

I remember the days of my immortality,
When nothing was ever forbidden to me.
Time stood still at my command;
Day turned to night with the wave of my hand.

My skin was smooth with a radiant glow,
No crease nor blemish marred my fair brow.
My long auburn braids shown in the sun,
Scented with sandalwood and cinnamon.

My step was light, never touching the ground,
I soared with the clouds and never looked down.
I gave not a thought to the passage of time;
I would live forever, eternal youth was mine.

But, the years have passed in quick succession,
They've left their mark with cruel expression.
My face has changed in texture and line;
My hair, once lovely, has lost its shine.

Wisdom has replaced my youthful dreams,
I have discovered that life is not what it seems.
I was caught by surprise when I gazed in the mirror
And saw that my Winter was drawing near...
