To get this thread started and to nudge ... Wow! Visiting a place so close and so diverse was a journey of the Spirit. This is in the Sierra Gorda of Queretaro ... first night's camp.

We journeyed through high desert to cloud forest down to a tropical rainforest all in the span of 100 miles.

Too cool

Our trip was shorter this year and we didn't even set up the tent, sadly we had 105° heatwave ffs. Then yesterday evening was 59°, I actually started getting hypothermia in the river lol..

My spouse seems naturally gifted at fishing. There was nothing to bitch about at all in regards to that, but I think in some ways a desert or forest hike could be more relaxing than the struggle to find fishing spots
