The worst drug there is?

This is so tongue in cheek, but I do have to ask, do you know of another drug than caffeine that is as widespread, endemic, necessary to functioning in the insane professional world of humans, schedule altering, poop transforming, dehydrating, anxiety inducing, cash exhausting, ritual reminiscent, etc?

I've been wondering for YEARS now, and had this worry reinforced by Mormons, about that damn sludge in my coffee cup.

If it wasn't for coffee, would I be queebing for that stress relieving joint?

If it wasn't for coffee, couldn't I afford fruit every morning?

If it wasn't for coffee, would it take two gallons of Thunderhead beer to make me pass out?

See what I mean? And it goes so well with Internet addiction.

Potheads can take their drug outside, but coffee really is the drug of the homebound. Why, they even let you have it in prison.

A beer can go with you on your fishing trip, but take a thermos of coffee and your trip won't be that much better. .. it has no protein or real caloric value, yet is exhausting your heart.


Does coffee actually stretch a few more years out of the limited human lifespan?

Cnn called coffee a miracle drug a few months ago only to say today that energy drinks are horrible for you.

Cigarettes are worse.

I took up smoking the roll-your-owns my partner-in-crime on our road trip smokes, which are much tastier...and then switched to American Spirit (additive free...not sure how much better it is than the Bugler he likes).

Been in Florida on vacation my parents took me and boys on for a week, and recognizing the THC jonesing symptoms...but I also noticed I didn't have the cig withdrawal from when I smoked camels...so I think the shit add to cigs is worse than caffeine

But that sweet sweet coffee, mmmmmm. And what better than a cig with it? Ah, if only moderation was easier, eh?

I cut back on coffee when I was in the office where it was supplied to us. Going to a cup a day (from a half pot to start) was not easy, but forcing myself to do it made dealing with the dependency easier

The biggest help for me was I (relatively) easily quit soda (and sugary drinks) long ago...maybe try what I did back then and ONLY drink water until you break your need for the sweet sweet HFCS (also worse than caffeine) and it might be easier.

Worst drugs IMO:
1. Additives in cigs
2. Additives in food
3. Opiates
4. Alcohol
5. Shiny rectangles

I might put caffeine at 6

I haven't met too many people who Used To drink coffee seriously, congratulations are in order.


Last year I went to a Budless sort of state, and after 1 week, I was drinking 5 or 10 cups of coffee and started drinking beer on the flight home, after two years of being dry

There was a homeless guy on bus yesterday wanting pity from us while carrying two 12 packs. I tried to be polite and of course was sad after the fact, but pity isn't what people need, they need motivation and often motivation comes from anger.

But paradoxically pissing them off can also cause suicide, i probably came across as uncaring.

That fking safeway. It caters to alcoholics.

I go to buy groceries, look at the coffee, unbelievable prices. As in jacked up. Lol.

I ultimately talked myself into buying a bag of ground Seattle's Best, it wasn't actually much more money. Who wants to deal with an hour to two hours lost trekking to walmart for $1?

I'm a huge freakin whiner. Did good shopping. Exercised restraint. But the coffee is personally insulting. They know they have us utterly by the balls when it snows here.

The good news is I get to talk to Michelle and Rick in the morning. Those 2 should get employee of the year... altho I like lots of the people there.
