Get off Your Knees

Of course you can sign petitions until the ink runs dry. Of course you can join protests until the cows come home or some power-crazy cop shoots you. What’s it going to do? Put to rest your petulantly rising conscience that you need to do something?

Unless you are firmly ensconced in the camp of the psychopaths—or are so drugged up by same that you don’t know whether you’re coming or going—your conscience will not rest until you do something.

The very word petition means to beg. It means you accept an authority above you who has power over you. Protesting means voicing your dissatisfaction with something you are powerless to prevent. Really? You are powerless?

Know, above all, that you are not powerless. Also know that as long as you act as if you are powerless, you will continue to be bullied, coerced, violated, poisoned, and stolen from. And as long as you justify your lack of power, your conscience will continue spoiling your day, whether you admit it or not, and each day it becomes a bit louder, a bit more petulant, a bit more grating on your nerves.

Are you still spending hour after hour listening to the latest Mr or Miss Popularity’s Q&A sessions, podcasts, or video releases? Does what you hear justify your inaction because now you’re told that as long as Mother Earth decides against AI taking over humanity, it’s all all right and you don’t have to do a thing except participate in mass meditations? Do you feel relieved that your acquaintance wasn’t lying when she slipped and mentioned being fucked on a stone altar in the dank basement of a cathedral at a tender age is seriously painful and induces nightmares for decades to come because now you had it confirmed in your favourite Mr Popularity’s latest interview of an SRA victim? Still blame the big bad Draco for the latest fail in a relationship that had to be another love-bite episode because Podcast #77 suggests you have absolutely nothing to do with the failure of your ninth 6-months-lasting relationship?

You may as well wake up now because your conscience isn’t going to let you sleep. Take a good look at your life, at your habits. Accept that there is only one being responsible for your actions: YOU. And then start acting (action-ing) on that fact. Listen to that inner voice called conscience because just because it is a quiet voice doesn’t mean it’s pointless. Quite the opposite. Look at political debates. Those who shout loudest have the fewest valid points.

Go within. Listen to the silence. It serves you far better in your spiritual growth than listening to loudest voices. Or did you merely replace TV watching with youtube watching, soap operas with alien soaps, rock concert looshing with mass meditation looshing?

What do you gain, you ask? You gain truth. And the truth will set you free.
